Stunning log-sided cabin built in 2019 sitting on exposed granite bedrock with panoramic mountain & water views. You'll have private use of the entire cabin, including 2 bedrooms, each with queen beds, a dresser and large closets. You'll enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Cook Inlet and Mount Susitna and, on clear days, part of the Alaska Range, two volcanoes and downtown Anchorage. Convenient for Anchorage area activities/adventures and a great staging location for day trips north or south. The space We find providing hospitality to others to be rewarding, and we've poured our time, talent & treasure into making our cabin an inviting and serene place for our guests. We designed the cabin and did a majority of the work on the interior ourselves. We're also committed to making choices to make our cabin more sustainable & energy-efficient, maximizing what we recycle and minimizing what we waste, and making conscious decisions on products we use to keep our interior environment as free as possible from chemicals and toxins. We invested in a tight and energy-efficient building envelope, we have a high-efficiency combination boiler and on-demand water heater, our refrigerator in Energy Star model, all of our lighting is LED, and all of our faucets, shower heads & toilet are water-saving. We are exploring options to replace gas appliances with high-efficiency electric ones and also to add solar panels, battery-backups and EV charging. Guest access You have private access to the entire cabin. Other things to note If you do not have a 4WD/AWD vehicle, you may not be able to drive up the upper driveway (approximately a 20% grade) and may then need to park just below the cabin in the flat parking area. Please be prepared to carry any of your luggage up the steep gravel driveway. We also rent out one of our vehicles on Turo during the summer season, a 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, which we keep at a valet parking garage within a mile of Anchorage airport.
