Rolling River Guest House ~ Cozy & Fun

This charming, private guest house used to be the Rolling River Café, converted into a cozy space with a pellet stove, a queen bed upstairs and futons upstairs and down. Perfect for 1 to 4 guests, such as 2 couples, 3 friends, or a family of 3 or 4. It is private - no sharing with any other guests. It has an open floor plan on both floors. The space Our comfortable guest house is a real treat! It's in the beautiful Catskills along a year-round river, 2 hour drive from New York City. Come and stay in a lovely historic house by the river and enjoy the nature and amenities. It is fully equipped for a nice vacation with lots to do in the area. Both upstairs and down have open floor plans. There are no bedroom doors, but there are thick curtains you can draw around the queen bed upstairs that block all view. Whether you are 1 guest or more you get the whole house to yourself - you won't share with unknown guests. We have a queen bed upstairs and futons upstairs and down, accommodating up to 4 guests comfortably, with a half bath downstairs, and a bath with shower upstairs. The house has a fully equipped kitchen and a TV for playing DVDs (there are lots of DVDs, but the TV is not hooked up for cable or broadcast television--feel free to bring your Roku, etc.). A pellet stove in the living room keeps the place warm in winter. In the summer, there is a charcoal grill and a picnic table for your riverside barbecue. There is excellent wifi that reaches to the picnic table and riverside bench. We have air conditioning. Check-in is any time from 3:00 pm on. Check out time is 11:00 am. There are many activities for a perfect vacation. We have a nice 1-mile walk on a Rail Trail in Parksville, a live music venue just 2 city blocks away on Main Street called Cabernet Frank's. In a 10-minute drive on Route 17 west is Livingston Manor, with the Catskill Brewery and great shopping, and the Catskill Art Space - a renowned art gallery. We are 30 minutes from Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center. We are 20 minutes from Monticello Casino and Raceway and Resorts World Casino. We are close to the Willowemoc River for the best trout fishing ever. Close by is an educational New York State trout hatchery, Hunter Lake for motorboating, for camping and swimming Mongaup Pond State Park and Neversink Reservoir for rowboating and fishing. Other things to do in the area are horseback riding at Bridle Hill Farm or Sonoma Falls where there is also a cider mill & country store, hiking, camping, antiquing, yoga classes at Just Breathe Yoga, visiting art galleries such as Catskill Art Space and Liberty Art Museum. In wintertime cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing. Holiday Mountain is a small family mountain 20 minutes away. Belleayre and Plattekill are 1 hour away for nice downhill skiing. These other places you shouldn't miss: wineries BashaKill and Eminence Road Farm, shops in Livingston Manor: Morgan Outdoors, Willow & Brown, Main Street Farm, Catskill Brewery and The Delightful Place. In Roscoe take a tour through the Prohibition Distillery. Enjoy the lovely rural surroundings.
