Overlooking Ruapuke Beach and set within our private vineyard at the foothills of Mt Karioi, this is a unique opportunity to stay at a remote location without compromising on comfort. The space With expansive views across lush native bush towards the ocean, you’ll take in the sound of breaking waves and abundant birdsong. Soak it all in under the stars from your private hot tub, enjoy warm west coast sunsets in summer or cosy up by the fire in winter with a glass of our bespoke, handcrafted wine (exclusively available to purchase from Barrelled Wines). With thoughtful design considerations, we’ve ensured your guest experience will be restful, including a fully-equipped kitchen with everything you need for a self-catered getaway. For the coffee lovers out there, we provide a top-of-the-line Nespresso Machine so that you can get your daily coffee fix, along with local 'Raglan Roast' pods. Foudre Suite is situated overlooking our small working vineyard. Planted in 2018, it consists of 1250 vines, mostly Syrah and Pinot Gris grapes. Frequently described as "delicious", our authentic Syrah, Rosé and Pinot Gris wines are available to purchase while stocks last. Ask us about our wine tasting, shelter experience, and guest-only platter options! As we are some distance from any restaurants (Raglan is your closest town), we recommend coming prepared so you can embrace this opportunity to feel totally removed from the world! Tea and coffee is provided, and our filtered tap water is safe to drink. A fan over the bed will keep you cool and comfortable on those hot nights. Winter travellers will love the wood-burning fireplace; there’s nothing like being cosied up to the fire with a view of the wild west coast outside your window. Limited reception offers a chance to disconnect, however free WiFi is available to guests. The room has a 50 inch TV with Netflix available for guest use. There are a host of outdoor activities nearby including surfing, hiking up Mt Karioi or around Te Toto Gorge, visiting Bridal Veil Falls, sightseeing along the coast and mountain biking along Whaanga Coastal Road. We’re happy to share our tips for enjoying this beautiful location. You’re welcome to walk and enjoy the property. As this is a working vineyard, noisy activities such as spraying may be undertaken at times. Guest access Parking space down the main driveway and off to the right down another small gravel driveway - look out for the "Foudre Parking" sign. While it’s a journey worth taking, there is 4km of gravel road to reach us. It adds to the charm of our remote location, but if you’re not comfortable with driving your vehicle on gravel, this may not be the right accommodation for you. Other things to note Things to note if you've booked in with your pooch: - Must be house-trained - No pets on furniture/beds - Please bring your pet's blankets and their pet bed (and crate if using) - Our friendly golden retriever (Daisy) will come and say hello to your dog - she may visit your room multiple times! We know that you’re here to embrace the magic of a more isolated escape. So, while our family (including our lovely natured golden retriever dog) live in the main house to the south of your accommodation, we ensure you have the space to enjoy this peaceful location with privacy.
