Banepastay Duplex
Banepa Stay Apartments is located in the heart of the old trading town of Banepa, an hour east of Kathmandu. The two separate cozy and clean duplex apartments share a quiet, green, private courtyard. Each apartment is stylish and designed to give guests an aesthetic feel of the old Nepali village home with modern comforts. It is an ideal short getaway for couples, families, artist residencies, work retreats and digital nomads. The apartment is available for both long and short-term stays. The space Although centrally located, the apartment is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Banepa Bazaar. Each apartment has two floors and includes: - a fully-stocked kitchen with enough cutlery, pots and pans, rice cooker, kettle, Moka pot; guests can prepare all meals on their own or contact us for home-cooked meals (extra charge); there are plenty of bars and restaurants around the apartment, too; - a dining/living area that seats 4-5 guests with a balcony that overlooks the courtyard greenery; - a spacious attic on the second floor with 3 separate beds, extra comforters, space heater, fan, iron, clothes rack, lounge area with cushions, and a dressing table; - a bathroom with hot/cold water, rain shower and essential toiletries; - a common courtyard (shared by guests in the two apartment premises) with a large mimosa tree and bamboo garden; the courtyard has a large bathroom with a sink; is wheelchair accessible and can comfortably host 25-30 guests for a gathering, BBQ party, birthday celebrations, corporate retreats etc.; - a multipurpose area for group workshops/sessions (whiteboard, screen/projector available), and studio spaces for artists and makers in-residency. Guest access Guests will have separate and full access to the entire duplex apartment and the private shared courtyard. Other things to note Experiences/ Around Banepa: Banepa Bazaar is a vibrant town with plenty of small and large shops, restaurants that serve local delicacies and international cuisine (wood fired pizza, biryani, pasta, etc.) and pubs with handcrafted coffee and Nepali craft beers. Banepa is also a historical town, a thoroughfare for Newa traders who used to travel to Tibet. With the history comes old architecture, temples and stories. Just 10-15 min drive from Banepa are also the old Newa towns of Dhulikhel and Panauti. We are 30-45 minutes away from the town of Bhaktapur, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and also Namo Buddha, an important Buddhist and Hindu pilgrimage site. We curate customised experiences for all our guests. They include: - group/ personalised heritage guided tours of Banepa, Panauti, Dhulikhel, Namo Buddha and Bhaktapur; - nature hikes with packed picnic lunch/snack; - group/ personalised gastronomical tours around Banepa, Panauti and Bhaktapur eating local delicacies; - cooking classes for up to 5 guests; - beginner music lessons by the host to play the folk instrument "sarangi," often called "the queen of musical instruments;" the sarangi is close to a violin and is quintessential to Nepali folk music.
