The Colton Retreat

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Sit by the fishpond and enjoy the view of farm country and Goat Mountain. Or relax and watch movies in the spacious, daylight basement. Two bedrooms on main floor next to fully stocked kitchen and clawfoot bathroom. King bed in tv room next to dedicated office. Read, play games, or enjoy the view on 3rd floor lofts, connected by a bridge. House is mid-way up hill behind private gate and driveway is shared with hosts. The homes share 13 acres. The space The house has a modern cabin feel with a very open floor plan. Please note, as hosts, we share a driveway with the Airbnb, but our home is further up the hill and cannot be seen from The Colton Retreat. There are a lot of trees and shrubs between the homes for privacy. The homes are on separate lots on a total of 13 acres. Outdoor fires are typically allowed October thru June, weather dependent. Once a burn bans go into effect, all outdoor burning is closed. Our local website shows fire danger and anything above “moderate” means no outdoor fires allowed. Parking is on the gravel drive in front of the home, and we can accommodate a maximum of 3 cars. Additional or large vehicles must be agreed upon in advance of the reservation arrival date. Guest access Entire home, patio and lower yard. There are two gravel driveways that create a walking path on the property. Other things to note This is a custom home built with love, sweat and some tears. We lived in it for many years before we built a home up the hill as our family grew. Please treat the granite countertops like they are your most cherished family member or pet. 🥰 If something heavy were to fall from the third floor onto the granite, and damage it, we would not be able to replace it. Kindly do not move furniture. We have intentionally placed furniture on carpets to protect the floors. Dragging heavy furniture damages both wool carpets and hardwoods.
