The lodge is cosy accommodation for two guests which is a completely separate building from the house providing ultimate privacy and comfort. The space The Master’s Lodge is on a single level and Wi-Fi is available throughout. The lodge is entered through its own front door into a well equipped kitchen. The kitchen consists of an oven, microwave, dishwasher, induction hob and fridge with a freezer compartment. In addition to this there is hot drink area further equipped with a kettle, toaster and cafetiere. There is a dining area with table and seating. Opposite the kitchen, guests are invited to hang coats and store shoes and read the local guides are available. The kitchen leads on into a light and airy open living space which has direct access out into the lodge’s own private courtyard garden where you can enjoy alfresco dining whilst looking onto the neighbouring farm. Blankets are available for those chillier nights outside. There are hanging beads over the back door leading out onto the terrace for your comfort. The lounge area consists of a sofa, coffee table and large flat screen TV with free-view and option for guests to use their own streaming services e.g. Netflix or Amazon Prime. There is a retractable insect screen over the lounge window for your comfort. Some traditional board games are available should guests require them. An informal visitors’ book has been placed with the intention of guests being able to share their experiences and recommendations of the local area with subsequent guests. Off the sitting room is the small bedroom which boasts a king size bed. We supply egyptian cotton linen bedding to promote your comfort. The elegant bedside tables and matching chest of drawers provides storage for your belongings and clothing in addition to the hanging space above. Upon the chest of drawers is a mirror vanity area and hairdryer is also supplied. The sunsets that can be seen from the bedroom window can be breathtakingly beautiful. There is a retractable insect screen over this window for your comfort. Off the bedroom a small step goes up and into the en-suite bathroom where there is walk in shower and bath enclosure with a heated towel rail, wash basin and WC. Luxury towels are provided and we pride ourselves on the exceptional levels of cleanliness we strive to achieve. Other things to note The lodge is situated on the outskirts of Stow on the Wold (1 mile away) and it takes approx. 20 minutes to walk there or approx. 3-minutes by car. Stow on the Wold’s market square centre offers an abundance of shops, pubs and eateries. In the opposite direction, Lower Slaughter is approx. a 3-minute drive and Bourton on the Water is approx. a 5-minute drive away making the Master’s Lodge an ideal location. The nearest train station is Kingham (approx. a 12-minute drive away) but Moreton-in Marsh station is also near (approx. a 10 minute drive away) and is served by a local bus service. From both stations (same line) there are direct trains can be taken to Oxford and London Paddington. It’s often said that walking is the best way to see the beautiful landscape of the Cotswolds. During your stay you can take a relaxing stroll to a pub for lunch or choose some of the longer walks along the Cotswold, Macmillan, Monarch’s, Gloucestershire Warden’s Windrush or Heart of England Ways. For the more adventurous guest horse riding/trekking is available in Bourton-on-the-Water, the Far Peak climbing centre is approx. 15-minute drive and Cotswold Water Park offering a variety of water sports is approx. a 35-minute drive away.
