Description

Escape the city to the stunning ocean side of Rye. Unwind and soak in the sunshine on our huge deck, watch the sunset, listen to the birds and enjoy happy hour. Enjoy the light filled open living area in our beach house & the garden views from every window. Perfect for a family holiday or just a break to unwind. Explore the back beaches and walking/cycling trails only minutes away. It’s 5 minute walk to 16th beach and to great coffee at the General Store. Room for 8, with ALL LINEN. Our beach house is in a bushy, beachy quiet area, perfect for relaxing, and in easy walking distance of the magnificent 16th Back Beach and Dymocks Beach as well as the wonderful Mornington Peninsula walking trail at the end of our street. Its about a 5 minute walk to the sand dunes and a few more minutes' walk to the local beach and cafe. We are a 10 minute drive to the front beach and the bustle of the local shops. Daisy Cottage is about a 10 minute drive to the Peninsula Hot Springs and Alba Thermal Springs. And an easy drive to all the great golf courses and wineries too The spacious and light filled living room and kitchen/dining area are open plan, connecting to the outdoor entertaining area and surrounded by native garden. Every window has a garden view. The wood fireplace and comfy couches are perfect for lazing away a day or two watching your fav TV series, reading a book or playing one of the many games in the cupboard. The deck with a new Weber BBQ is ideal for outdoor dining for 8. Or the dining room can easily seat 8 indoors. The house has 3 bedrooms, with a queen bed in each, and two also have a single bed. The main bedroom has a large wardrobe and is downstairs. Upstairs is a mezzanine additional living area, and the two additional bedrooms that are attic style and have drawers for storage. We also have a portacot, monitoring device, high chair, child's table and chairs as well as 2 gates for the stairs. And of course, toys and books. Let us know if your child is young and we will set the cot and gates up for you. There is an extra couch that can be slept on comfortably too - just let us know if you need it made up. You have access to a full bathroom, separate toilet and laundry area with washer and dryer. BATH TOWELS AND LINEN are provided You have broadband WiFi access, a smart TV with Chromecast and Stan plus a DVD with loads of movies. And of course, heating and air conditioning are available, as well as the open fireplace. We leave the pantry with staples, like sauce, vegemite etc. We have a Nespresso coffee machine and leave some pods for you. We also leave some breakfast cereals and long life milk. There is a bread machine with instructions, flour and yeast for you to make beautiful warm loaves of bread. You have access to the whole house and yard. Everything. The driveway fits 3 cars, nose to tail. And we have a verandah on 2 sides of the house so you can store your bikes etc there. The space is too tight for a boat or caravan and there isn't anywhere on the street to park them. We also have a shed in the backyard that has a bit of storage space in it. We live nearby so can come over if there are any problems. You can also call or text on our mobiles once you book The coastal reserve is at the end of the street which has a path that leads to Number 16 and Dimmicks beaches (and beyond to Portsea and to Cape Schanck), as well as coffee and supplies at 16 Beach General Store (500m walk). Local attractions include: - Award winning Peninsula Hot Springs - Golf courses (public courses include The Dunes, Eagle Ridge) - Breweries and wineries - Sorrento, Blairgowrie and Rye shops - Rye pier, playground and foreshore - Ocean surf beaches and bay beaches It is a quiet area, set in coastal bush, away from the front beach crowds. Buses run along Melbourne Road. Otherwise, you need to walk or drive. Parking - our driveway is long enough that 3 cars should be able to fit, nose to tail. We do have resident possums in the front trees and they do cause a bit of mess that we clean up, but you may find some possum poo on the deck. They love playing in the trees at sunset and are lovely to watch. Unfortunately, the fencing on the property means that we can't have pets stay as they are not secure. If your pet is an indoor pet, then message me to discuss further. If you use the fireplace, please read the notes provided in the house on what to do or you will fill the house with smoke!!! When the wind is blowing strongly from a northerly direction, the smoke comes into the room so we don't recommend lighting it then. We have wind direction arrows to help you work out if it is northerly. Message me to discuss longer stay discounts
