Challis is a great starting point to explore the many sites of the Salmon Challis NF, fish the Salmon River, or simply enjoy laid back mountain living. The Little Log Cabin is close to restaurants and bars and within minutes of groceries, gas and shopping, making it easy to plan your visit. You will immediately feel at home in this historic log cabin located uptown Challis. Originally built in the 1950’s , the cabin has been updated with luxury vinyl flooring, new bathroom fixtures and paint while retaining it’s vintage charm! The main bedroom is spacious with a queen sized bed, large closets and dresser. The second bedroom is outfitted with a twin size bed and built-in dresser drawers. The kitchen is fully equip and features a full sized refrigerator, stove, microwave and coffee bar. Enjoy your morning coffee and evening beverage in the semi-private backyard. You will have exclusive use of the cabin and backyard. The house is equipped with a smart lock system that allows for self check in. Prior to your stay you will receive your unique 4 digit entry code. We use the app to communicate how to access the house and house rules, however, we live in Challis and actively manage our 3 short term rentals so we are generally a few minutes away if you need anything and if we see you out we may stop by and visit. The neighborhood is Main Street Challis! We hope you will spend time in the neighborhood. If you want to get out of town, visit the Land of the Yankee Fork State Park and Bayhorse townsite and remnants of the mining operations. If you feel like venturing out a little further, head the the Yankee Fork of the Salmon River and visit the Yankee Fork Dredge and the ghost towns of Bonanza and Custer. During the spring through fall seasons, visit the Challis Golf Course for lunch or dinner and enjoy the best view in town. The Cabin is located uptown and if you are staying during any major event there is the possibility of noise, otherwise Challis is pretty quiet.
