Homer's Highest Eagle & Condor Solar Log Cabin

Perched as the highest cabin in Homer at 1575 ft, the Eagle & Condor solar powered dry cabin is a stunning perch overlooking the mountains, glaciers, volcanoes & ocean of Homer. A perfect retreat space for a single or couple, it's a dream space for writers, artists, outdoor enthusiasts & meditators with breathtaking views, deep silence, and access to a over 100 kilometers of trails right from your door! Though only 8 miles from downtown Homer its easily accessible and yet feels highly remote! The space The dry 10x12 one room adorable log cabin ("dry" meaning no running water) is named after the Eagle and Condor Prophecy, a 2000 year old prophecy which speaks to uniting the peoples of North America (Eagle) with those of South America (Condor). When the Eagle of the North flies with the Condor of the South, it is said that the Spirit of the land and humanity will re-awaken. After touring over 20 countries touching a million people with our non -profit foundation's world peace 7ft Grandmother Drum, the vision of the cabin is to house indigenous Elders we have worked with around the world to now come to Alaska to share their cultural traditional knowledge and wisdom and healing practices that can restore our planet to its original dream of wholeness for all. Funds from your rental will be supporting the foundation's current fundraiser to bring indigenous Elders to Alaska in 2020 and beyond. Made with 95% repurposed materials, the Eagle and Condor Elders cabin was built in one year with so much love from 18 project volunteers and funded by 140 donors globally. The cabin is run on solar and shore power, has a trundle king (or two twins) with all bedding, towels, propane stove and heater, small refrigerator, extra cooler, sink, blender and coffee maker (coffee and tea available) and all cooking utensils etc. small table, chairs, a few 5 gallon jugs provided and then you haul it from Homer town. There is a port-a potty in the cabin and use of an outhouse 100yds from the cabin on the land. In summer there is a private space to park your car next to the cabin. There is no shower facilities available, ( though available in Homer town) . For the more hearty, we can however provide a small solar heated shower bag that can be used outside the cabin. There is no smoking, drugs, alcohol, parties or firearms permitted in the cabin or on the Whirling Rainbow Foundation premises. The cabin is designed for 1-2 persons, however in summer we do allow ONE additional tent space next to the cabin for an extra $10 per person nightly fee to accommodate a few more guests. The cabin is just 15 minutes from downtown Homer yet located at the edge of the wilderness giving you instant access to hiking, birding, wildlife photography, fat and mountain biking, cross country and downhill skiing. meditating in the silence or simply gazing out the porthole window directly at Grace Ridge . If you are a writer, artist, photographer or meditator this is your dream retreat space! Guest access Guests will be able to access the cabin via a private drive and have use of the surrounding open lawn space around the cabin, and the outhouse. The rest of the property is the private space of the hosts and The Whirling Rainbow Center.
