The Tillerman is an inspired inn & restaurant restored from its 1790’s bones. We have 7 beautiful bedrooms w/ ensuite bathrooms. Think hardwood floors, wool rugs, organic mattresses, linen duvets, fresh cut flowers & locally roasted coffee. Join us in the parlor, read a book by the fire & stay for a farm to table meal from the wood fired oven. Roam the gardens, take a dip in the creek or just sit on the front porch & listen to live music on Wed. night. We have a feeling you will love it here! The space 🛏️ THE ROOM This room is called "Corrina" and is located on the second floor. Corrina has a king bed, a desk for work or creative time, a comfy chair for reading and a closet with hangers for your clothes. The ensuite bathroom has a tiled tub+shower and was renovated in 2024. ☕️ AMENITIES Our mattresses are from Saatva, they are handcrafted from organic cotton and incredibly comfortable. Organic cotton sheets and towels are from Brooklinen and natural, local bath products from Ursa Major. We have delicious locally roasted coffee and tea available for guests in the parlor. Each room has its own mini fridge, a hair dryer, clothing steamer and AC. 🛋️ COMMON SPACE Join us in the parlor, read a book by the fire or play a board game while enjoying a delicious cup of tea. In the morning, breakfast is served at the one-of-a-kind 16-foot-long farm table. 🍓 BREAKFAST A light breakfast is included in the price of the room and served between 8-10am. Breakfast consists of local yogurt, house made granola, fresh fruits, farm fresh boiled eggs and pastries (house made scones and local maple pastry). Our locally roasted french press coffee is from Brio Coffeeworks and our loose leaf tea selection is from Stone Leaf Teahouse as well as from our own gardens. 🍕 THE RESTAURANT We have a restaurant downstairs that is 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆-𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆. Enjoy a local meal from our wood fired oven. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made online or over the phone. 🌿 THE GROUNDS In the summer the gardens are abundant and the swimming hole at the creek is oh so refreshing! In autumn the property teems with apple trees and sugar maples. As the days get colder, our spot turns into a magical winter wonderland and a great place to stay during a ski trip. 🎶 LIVE MUSIC We have live music by the barn every Wednesday throughout the summer and into early-fall. Our music season starts mid-May, more info on our website. Guest access The parlor is a space where guests can hang out during the day. Make yourself at home, we’ve got a great collection of books - art, poetry, novels, children's books, cookbooks… Take a seat by the fireplace, or maybe you prefer the front porch in the summer time... We keep the double doors to the restaurant closed until 3pm. After that, our servers come in to set the tables for dinner service, also in the parlor. We kindly ask you to wait until the restaurant opens at 4:30pm to order drinks from the bar. Other things to note ⭐️ We are located on N 116 Rd in Bristol (*not Starksboro*). The Tillerman is easily accessible and we have a big parking lot on the property. ⭐️ We embrace the quirks, character and eccentricities of this old beautiful building and we hope you do, too. Our refinished hard wood and wide plank pine floors creak. The floors and ceiling are often slanted, the heavy steam furnaces have a language of their own and keep us nice and toasty. If your comfort zone is the Four Seasons or the Hilton, perhaps we are not the right place for you. If you love to live off the beaten path, be transported to a simpler time, are inspired by texture and the elements, well — you might never want to leave. ⭐️ Our restaurant is open Wednesday-Saturday from 4:30 til 8pm. If you want to dine with us, please make your reservation beforehand! ⭐️ Our quiet times are between 11pm-8am.
