The Blue Lake House

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Located on the water's edge in Lakeside, Yungaburra, is this family friendly home that is ready for you to enjoy. With direct access to the lake, it is perfect for anyone wanting to bring the water toys up and enjoy a day on the water or just relax on the veranda and let time go by. There are long walks along the water's edge - and the sunsets are just amazing. The space The beautiful, peaceful Blue Lake House with one king, one queen and one double sized bedroom, 2 bathrooms and a comfy lounge area is suited for up to 8 guests, including the family pet ($55 pet fee applies). Our lounge area has two daybeds that can be turned into single beds at night. Cooling and heating systems are fitted in every bedroom as well as the open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area. The uniquely shaped house offers you to close a doorway situated in-between the three bedrooms and one bathroom on one side and lounge/dining/kitchen area plus second bathroom on the other side for extra privacy. This gives some of the guests the opportunity to have a rest while others might be busy preparing meals in the kitchen or having a chat in the lounge room. A large veranda overlooks the peaceful and serene Lake Tinaroo where you can unwind and escape the business of everyday life. One of the bedrooms and the lounge area have direct access to the veranda with BBQ and a large dining table to enjoy your meals outside. The kitchen provides everything you need (except for a dishwasher) to make your stay even more memorable. A coffee maker, gas stove and microwave will make cooking fun and easy. We provide enough tea (including a variety of herbal teas), coffee, milk, sugar, salt and pepper to get you started. For the rainy days the indoor dining area offers you to have your meals in comfort or play some board games during the evenings. Guests are welcome to use the laundry which is situated downstairs and offers a washing machine plus dryer. We encourage guests to use clothes racks to dry their washing on a sunny day. An iron and ironing board can be found upstairs near the fridge. Washing powder is provided to get you started. Additional supply can be purchased at the nearby Foodworks at Yungaburra village. An additional outdoor setting with large table and chairs is set up downstairs. Guests can watch their children and pets play on the lawn or enjoy the peaceful view over the lake. Please be mindful of your dogs running around as there are no fences in-between properties and neighbours let their own dogs out regularly. Dog poop must be picked up around the house and lawn area and disposed of in outdoor bins. We provide 4 kayaks for you to use during your stay so you can enjoy Lake Tinaroo if you didn't bring your own boat. Paddles and some life jackets are in the same area downstairs where the kayaks are stored. For guests who bring their own motorised boats keep in mind that The Blue Lake House does NOT have its own boat ramp or pontoon. The closest boat ramp is situated about 10min away on Tinaburra Drive close to the Avenue of Honour. Having said this, some guests have reported that they could easily anchor their boat in view of the house during the day or overnight, so they didn't have to take it in and out of the water. An undercover car park is situated beneath the house which only fits cars with low clearance. Other vehicles can be parked on driveway or on the grass area of the property. No smoking is allowed inside the house. We suggest going for a walk on the lawn when smoking. Always securely dispose of cigarette butts. Please respect our neighbourhood and always keep any noise to a minimum. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire house and property. There is only one storage room downstairs underneath the house that is locked and not accessible to guests. Other things to note Lakeside is part of rural living and therefore guests need to be aware of insects and other creatures around the property. Curlews and bush turkeys can regularly be heard and seen around the property.
