Stay in our private garden apartment in Portland’s historic Kerns neighborhood, steps from NE 28th Ave’s famous Restaurant Row. Walk to some of the city’s best restaurants, coffee shops, cocktail bars, and boutiques. After a day exploring Portland, unwind on the furnished garden patio surrounded by greenery. During warmer months, relax outside with a drink or enjoy the Solo Stove fire pit. The space ★THE GARDEN APARTMENT★ Our newly renovated one-bedroom garden apartment has a private entrance from the fenced garden patio. The design pays tribute to one of the garden’s hardest workers: the bee. Inside you’ll find: • A comfortable queen Tempurpedic mattress • 50” Smart TV with Netflix and Hulu • Fast 850mbps Wi-Fi • A fully stocked kitchen with cookware, gas range, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig (pods included), and mini fridge While two great local coffee shops sit less than a block away, we also keep the apartment stocked with coffee. Enjoy beans from Portland-area roasters for the French press, or grab a quick cup from the Keurig. The apartment includes a washer and dryer (detergent provided). The washer is small-capacity, and the dryer is ventless, which means drying times may be a bit longer than standard dryers. Heating and AC are centrally controlled for the home. We also provide fans and space heaters if you prefer additional temperature control. We live upstairs, and because this is a 120-year-old home with hardwood floors, you may occasionally hear typical house sounds. We’ve added extra insulation to help reduce noise and provide complimentary earplugs for light sleepers. ★THE GARDEN★ We started the garden from a clean slate in 2021 and have loved watching it grow each season. You’ll find passion vines, roses, echinacea, wildflowers, and plenty of visiting bees — the inspiration behind the apartment’s bee-themed bedroom. In 2025 we added a small water garden made from a restored cast-iron clawfoot bathtub. It’s home to aquatic plants, fish, snails, and other pond life, and has quickly become one of our favorite spots in the garden. The patio itself is fully furnished with umbrellas, a sofa, chairs, and a table for six. Guests are welcome to use the gas grill and utensils. A Solo Stove is sometimes available when there isn’t a burn ban, and firewood is available upon request. ★THE NEIGHBORHOOD★ We're located three blocks from NE 28th Ave.'s Restaurant Row, the garden apartment is steps from some of Portland's best restaurants, bars, and shops. We take great pride in our home and are glad you're considering staying there. We live upstairs with our dog, Romeo. He's friendly and usually quiet, you may occasionally see him lounging on the patio sofa. ★PETS★ We allow pets under 25 lbs. Your pet must be housetrained and not left unattended. Please clean up after your pet; there is an additional $50 fee for our cleaning team to do so. ★RULES (see House Rules for more details)★ *Absolutely NO SMOKING OR VAPING INDOORS; You're welcome to smoke/vape outside on the patio away from the house. *Maximum occupancy is 2 guests. A third guest can be accommodated on an air mattress upon request, though space will be limited. *NO EVENTS unless approved beforehand, subject to permitting and additional fees. Guest access You will have the entire apartment to yourself. Unless otherwise approved during booking, only registered guests are permitted to stay overnight. Unregistered overnight guests are not allowed and may result in cancellation of the reservation. Other things to note For security, exterior cameras are located on the front porch and back porch/driveway and have the fence gates in view.
