Modern Geo-Dome with Heat/AC on Nature Preserve

Closed for the season! Seasonal geo-dome situated high above a beautiful ravine surrounded by pine trees with heat and AC. The Awosting Club is a private wilderness preserve on the Shawangunk Ridge in Gardiner, NY. Explore over 250 acres on our private hiking trails meandering through native blueberry bushes alongside private waterfalls. This Geo-Dome overlooks the Palmaghatt Kill Stream from its wide windows and beautiful deck. Outside you will find an amazing private fire pit and hammock. The space Our seasonal domes are super cozy in both summer and colder weather with our mini split systems. Equipped with a log queen bed, skylight above, super soft linens, cozy blankets, and a down comforter in the winter months. Included are towels, a mini fridge, Keurig, coffee, charcoal grill, bluetooth speaker, lantern, umbrellas, a mini library of books and water jug 1 gallon for drinking. If you are coming as a family, one additional children's mattress on the floor may be added. Outside of your Geo-Dome you will find an amazing private fire pit, charcoal grill and hammock. Firewood bundles are available for purchase for $10 or you may bring your own. In addition, each site has an outhouse, which is thoroughly cleaned after each guest. A bit rustic, but there is no odor! Geo-Domes are a short 1 - 3 minute walk from parking. Please dress accordingly in winter months. You will be greeted by our Host at the gate for check-in and guided to your site. Guest waivers to be completed at check-in. Our Geo-Domes are dog friendly and require a $75 pet fee. One dog maximum. No cats allowed. There is no Wi-Fi, but you should have cellular service! There are miles of private trails for hiking with an amazing private waterfall as one of your destinations! We are adjacent to Minnewaska State Park and Mohonk Preserve (both a 20 minute drive to park entrance) which offer mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, kayaking, rock scrambling, views of the Catskills and more! Just 20 minutes outside of the colorful and active town of New Paltz, NY with many options for dinning, shopping, and entertainment. Other things to note **History of The Awosting Club** In the mid 1950's John Atwater Bradley, then a graduate student, attended a conference in Cragsmoor, the site of a celebrated art colony not far from what is now the Awosting Reserve and The Awosting Club. The next morning at dawn, he went out for an exploratory hike and did not return until long after dark. Bradley hiked through evergreen and hardwood forests, along bubbling streams, roaring waterfalls and shimmering mountain lakes. He discovered an incredible wilderness like none he'd ever seen, populated by whitetail deer, black bear, fox, raccoons, bobcat and coyote as well as a natural aviary of hawks, peregrine falcons, owls, eagles and pileated woodpeckers. That day he fell in love with the Shawangunk Ridge. The Bradley family still lives on the property, and after 50 years of sharing the property with educational organizations, schools, artists, writers, explorers, camps, family and friends, are excited to invite others to fall in love with the Shawangunk Ridge as John Bradley had over 70 years ago. Bradley's daughter, Camilla, and her family are keeping the Awosting traditions alive by sprucing up the camp buildings and platforms while maintaining the trails that have been used for decades for outdoor adventures: from sleeping to eating to playing to communing with nature in all her glory.
