Semi-detached Victorian Art House sleeping 8 guests, situated in Wallasey, located by the River Mersey and overlooking Liverpool. Wallasey is a popular destination among golfers and water-sports enthusiasts, also with an easy reach to Liverpool and Chester. The North Wirral Coastal Park with views out to sea, gives outdoor lovers a beautiful setting for a walk, run or bike ride. Local amenities such as restaurants, pubs, shops, gyms and swimming pools, theatres are about a 10-minute walk. The space This is our dream house, and we hope, while we are away, you will love it as much as we do. First, great location, 3 min. walk to the river (it may actually take longer by car), 30 min. walk (8 min. by car) to the Ferry across the Mersey to arrive at the Liverpool Waterfront and 30 min. walk (5 min. drive) to New Brighton beach. More of our local favourites later on. The house is really spacious and bright, rooms with high ceiling, large windows and plenty of space. We called it Victorian Art House because it was built just before 1875 and it filled with art and artists’ themed rooms. From the entrance gate, there is a path along the cypress hedge leading through the front garden to the entrance door. Through the front door, there is an entrance hall with a large mirror, archive map showing the area in 1875. On the left, Gustav Klimt’s Room with his most famous art works and many golden decorative pieces. A large bay window brings in plenty of light and a view of the garden. There is a very comfy corner sofa, double sofa bed and large footstool. Fireplace (please note this is for decorative purposes only and cannot be used) and mantelpiece with large mirror above. From the entrance hall on the right, is King Arthur’s Room serving as a dining room with the French door leading to the back garden. A large table in the middle with chairs, bookshelves displaying our teapot collection and a TV on the wall. A long and bright kitchen adjoining the dining room overlooks the back garden. The space is fitted with plenty of storage and a large selection of dishes and utensils. Breakfast bar at the entrance, large fridge/freezer, washing machine, dish washer, electric cooker/oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, pans, pots, coffee machine, plates, mugs, utensils, glasses etc. Complimentary tea, coffee and sugar are provided. Plenty of space for food preparation and cooking. From the entrance hall, a beautiful wooden staircase leads to the first floor. The bathroom with shower, toilet and basin is opposite the stairs. On the right, Vincent Van Gogh’s Room, displaying his famous artworks which in the morning is filled with warm yellow light from the sunrise. At the entrance, small bookshelf and a writing desk with chairs. A large bay window brings a lot of light into the room with an armchair and small stool overlooking the front garden. Large double bed, bookshelves, chest of drawers and large wardrobe. On the left, Dante & Beatrice Room, with a window looking over the back garden. The décor includes the beautiful painting of Henry Holiday “Dante and Beatrice” (and you can see the original at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool), Edward Burne-Jones "Love Among The Ruins" and a map of Italy. On the right, side there is a small settee and bookshelves. On the left king size bed with bedside cabinets and large wardrobe. The bedroom leads to the dressing room decorated in Parisian style with vanity mirror, stool, small shelf, and large mirror fronted wardrobe. Next door leads to a bright en-suite bathroom with bath/shower, toilet and basin. Additional cupboard space and an armchair. From the landing, the staircase leads to the top floor. On the right, the Beatles Room in black and red, filled with the band’s posters and from the window, stunning views of the Liverpool waterfront. On the right side, stand with TV screen. On the left, corner sofa bed, bookshelves, coffee table and small wardrobe. Some of the rooms on the top floor where we keep our private things are locked and we hope that will be respected. Over the last few months, the house was fully renovated and has that fresh feel. However, as the property is almost 150 years old and we tried to keep as many original pieces as possible, it has some squeaks and noises. There is a front and back garden going through the final transformation. All the windows were recently replaced and are fitted with blinds to block the light as required. We don’t allow people to smoke in the house or pets. Please note there are locked private rooms on the third floor where we store our private belongings, and they are marked as private. Please don’t try to open them. We hope you will really enjoy staying there as for us it was always a very special place. Guest access We offer our Victorian Art House to our guests while we explore living in another part of Europe. Our co-host Alex will be a point of contact providing you with all check-in details, and useful information and is helpful if you have any questions. Prior to your arrival, you will be provided with the key lock box code to open the house. Other things to note Please note there is a CCTV in operation at the main entrance and in the back garden. Neighbourhood description Our Victorian Art House is located at the local street away from main roads, close walking distance to the UK’s longest New Brighton Promenade. Getting around.
