Weaver's Cottage is located in the peaceful garden setting of 15th C Cloth Hall. Smarden was once renowned as a weaving community. The cottage has been lovingly converted into a stunning retreat for four, offering a super king-size bed & 2 single footstool beds, a luxury spa bathroom and a large comfy sofa right in front of a wood burning stove. Guests also have access to heated outdoor swimming pool in the warmer half of the year and an optional hot tub year round for an additional hire fee. There are also two pouffes in the lounge that unfold into two single beds, ideal for children or small adults. The well-equipped kitchen makes self-catering effortless, while thoughtful touches throughout help you feel instantly at home. The standout feature, time and again, is the stunning spa-style bathroom. With underfloor heating, a huge freestanding bath and a separate rainfall shower, it feels more like a boutique hotel or private spa than a countryside cottage. The super-king bedroom is equally indulgent, with guests praising the comfort of the bed and the peaceful nights’ sleep. Outside, enjoy your own enclosed courtyard with garden furniture and barbecue, or unwind in the optional private hot tub, with hire priced at £50 per night and available year-round. During the warmer months, from May to September, guests can also enjoy access to the heated outdoor swimming pool set within the grounds at no additional cost. Arriving at Weaver’s Cottage, you pass through the gated grounds of Cloth Hall and immediately feel the sense of privacy and calm that guests often comment on. Step inside through the front door into a welcoming hallway with cool limestone flooring, setting the tone for the quality and finish throughout. The sitting and dining area is the heart of the cottage — cosy, comfortable and designed for relaxation. A large corner sofa faces the log burner, making it the perfect spot for quiet evenings in. Guests love lighting the fire, settling in with a film on the Smart TV and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. A dining table sits nearby, ideal for leisurely breakfasts or intimate dinners, with an extra couple of foldaway chairs should you have additional guests staying. The kitchen is fully equipped and thoughtfully laid out, with travertine flooring, modern appliances, a Nespresso coffee machine and everything needed for an easy stay, whether you’re cooking properly or keeping things simple. The bedroom offers hotel-level comfort, centred around a super-king-size bed that guests repeatedly describe as incredibly comfortable. Guest access Guests have exclusive access to Weaver's Cottage, private outside area plus one parking space and shared use of the communal seating around the larger fire pit. Other things to note Pets are allowed. In the grounds of Cloth Hall there is other small cottage, sleeping two; Spinster's Nook and also Cloth Worker's Barn, which sleeps six adults and a child in a cot or a put-up-bed. Any combination of properties can be booked as a group to sleep up to 14 guests. Please enquire for availability. Please note the additional 2 beds in Weavers Cottage are pouffes that fold out to a length of 1800mm (more suitable for children, although an adult could sleep on them). There is and unfenced pond nearby with ducks and a goose. The owner has 2 small dogs. A child is welcome but please make sure they are careful around the pond area.
