Welcome to Los Pochotes Eco Lodge, the ideal tropical getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday city life. Located in the "Sierra Madre del Sur” just 25 minutes walking distance from the beach and town of Mazunte, Oaxaca, surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery, Los Pochotes Eco Lodge offers the ideal destination for relaxation and artistic endeavors. Los Pochotes gets its name from the sacred tree which was considered the pillar of creation by the Mayans, the Kapok (Ceiba) tree. When I was designing and building Los Pochotes, my main objective was to create a home away from home, where I could escape from the pressures of daily life in the city. I wanted a place where I could concentrate on my writing and enjoy the many blessings of nature with my family and friends, without causing a negative impact on the land around me. Thus, Los Pochotes is completely off the grid, using solar energy to power the entire facility. This means that you should be mindful of your consumption of electricity once the sun goes down. A wireless Internet connection is available at Los Pochotes. However, the Internet can be somewhat unreliable in Mazunte. There is also a greywater system to efficiently filter household greywater back into the surrounding land. As water is a precious resource, we ask you to use it with mindfulness, we have a water cistern to collect water from rain, especially in rainy season.
