Rivulet is a rustic, romantic retreat located only 8 miles from Yosemite National Park. Rivulet will be the place to let yourself peacefully unwind and relax after exploring Yosemite’s epic sights. The alluring aroma of the forest around you will enchant your senses and the sound of the creek will lull you to sleep. Let the cozy ambiance draw you closer to your loved ones and help reconnect those bonds while on a magical weekend getaway in the woods. You will never forget this place. The space Rivulet is located in the Sierra National Forest, only 8 miles from the South Entrance to Yosemite National Park (about a one hour drive to the Valley depending on traffic). Originally built in 1890 as a managers cabin, Rivulet was completely rebuilt in 2008 utilizing as much of the original wood and charm as possible. Again it was renovated in 2021 when our family purchased the cabin. For some time we had no plans of renting it out, thus poured our love for design into the home so that it suited our own personal style. Think bohemian vibes combined with rustic charm utilizing natural elements. After a few big life changes and realizing how special Rivulet turned out, we have now decided to share it. HOUSE OVERVIEW As you open the door to Rivulet you will find yourself in the mud room on the lower floor, it is here we ask you to kindly remove your shoes to prevent tracking in outdoor elements, and put on a pair of slippers for it is time to leave your worries behind and get cozy. From here you can go up the stairs to the main level or straight into the bedroom. The bedroom features a queen bed with a pillow top mattress with a romantic canopy, 55” flatscreen smart TV, Google Home speaker for music and a gas fireplace. There is an en-suite bathroom with a shower, bathtub and heated tile floors. Upstairs, you’ll find the main level of the cabin. The main level is a light-filled open concept dining room, kitchen, and living room with a full bathroom. Snuggle up in the living room on the cozy six penny couch and watch the 50”Samsung smart TV. Our kitchen is well equipped to make delicious meals if you choose to do so: Appliances, pots, pans, Fable dish ware and utensils, coffeemakers (espresso machine and pour over), kettle, and Vitamix. There is a washer and dryer as well. The wood burning fireplace adds to the ambiance, although we do not allow it do be used due to the wildfire risk. The many windows allow lots of natural light and the fresh mountain air to drift in and remind you of the natural surroundings. Our cabin is best suited for a couple or two couples, who won't mind being in close quarters with each other and one couple being in the loft with two twin beds. Please note that accessing the loft requires climbing a ladder (located in the living room and may not be suitable for everyone and not for children). Open up the French doors from the living room to enter the screened in patio amongst the trees to enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. We also have a Finnish Kota charcoal grill to gather around on the deck as you grill up some yummy food. Rivulet is outfitted with all the modern amenities you could need for your stay: a fully outfitted kitchen with a gas range, two smart Samsung TVs, Google Home speakers, Finnish Kota barbecue, Sixpenny couch, fast wifi, gas fireplace and the most comfortable mattresses and linens. Rivulet pays close attention to eco friendly products and unscented cleaning supplies. Guest access Due to fall hazard of the ladder and handrails designed for adults, small children under the age of 12 are not allowed in the loft. The loft may also be unsuitable for those who are physically unable to climb the ladder safely. There is keyless entry. We will provide guests with their code prior to check-in. Code will be deactivated at time of check-out. You'll have to send a request to book our cabin. Please make it easy for us to approve your request by introducing yourself, telling us who you're bringing along, and assuring us that you've read these house rules. Other things to note We want you to have the best possible experience here. On that note it's important that every adult in your party reads and acknowledges the house rules. GENERAL HOUSE RULES Cozy up on the couch and watch a good movie, play a board game, enjoy some wine on the screened in patio, bake some cookies, or hike to the nearby Red Rock Falls. This is a place for relaxing getaway, not for being loud and rambunctious. Loud music is not allowed anywhere on the deck or in the front yard as to respect the community. Check-in time is 3:00. Check-out time is noon. We ask you to kindly remove your shoes to prevent tracking in outdoor elements, we have provided a pair of slippers so that you are cozy. They are yours to keep. Be mindful of your footprint in nature, and please do your part to respect and preserve this special place. Don't harm the trees, dump waste, or litter. As the registered guest, you're required to share this information with others in your party and take responsibility for any damage(s) they might incur during your stay. SMOKING (TOBACCO AND CANNABIS) Smoking is prohibited on the property and in the surrounding community due to high fire risk. Our indoor smoking ban includes tobacco, cannabis and e-cigarettes. If we smell smoke or cannabis, you can expect a claim and charge to your credit card. SEPTIC Since we are on a septic system, we ask that guests do not flush anything other than toilet paper (and human waste) down our toilet.Thank you for being mindful of our sensitive system. WIFI Cell Service is limited in Yosemite and surrounding areas, including our cabin. But we do offer WiFi for WiFi calling and texting. PETS No pets are allowed at this time. WILDLIFE Rivulet is in the mountains, there are bugs and spiders. As of August there have been some issues in Sugar Pine with a bear entering homes to look for food through open doors and windows. Fish and game is currently attempting to relocate the bear. Please do not leave any food or trash outside as it could attract the bear. Same goes for food in your car. ELEVATION Rivulet is at 4500ft elevation, evenings can be cool so bring a jacket and sun rays are strong so be sure to wear sunscreen. Drink extra water to prevent any dehydration. A Brita water filter is provided. SECURITY CAMERAS We have four cameras total. A doorbell camera, one camera facing the parking area and street, one at the back door facing outwards, and another camera facing the outdoor grill for fire safety reasons. You will be recorded as you come and go. WINTER DRIVING We are accessible year-round. Rivulet is located on a private road that gets plowed when there's snow, but we still recommend AWD with good tire tread in the snowy months. Would be a good idea to carry chains if heading into Yosemite valley as they are often required in the snowy months (generally December to March). SUBLEASES AND TRANSFERS Your booking is non-transferable, and no right to sublease is allowed or implied. The guest of record must be present at check-in and check-out. LOFT LADDER WAIVER By booking with us, you agree to these terms and conditions. Only guests declared with this Airbnb booking may use the loft ladder. In consideration for the utilization of the loft ladder, I understand and agree to the following: 1. Owner is not liable for any loss or damage to property arising out of my usage of the loft ladder. 2. I understand that a risk of injury is present when utilizing a loft ladder, and I assume all responsibilities and risk of participation in this activity. 3. In consideration of the acceptance of my agreement, I intend to be legally bound for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators and do hereby release any and all sponsors of this facility and their representatives, successors and assigns from any and all liability arising from injuries, including illness and death, that I may suffer as a result of my usage of the loft ladder. 4. I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS AGREEMENT, RELEASE & WAIVER LIABILITY, AND I KNOW ITS CONTENTS. I HAVE VOLUNTARILY ACCEPTED IT AS PART OF MY ACCEPTANCE OF THE HOUSE RULES AS MY OWN FREE ACT.
