The space he Resting Place is a quiet, well-cared-for shared home with six private guest rooms and one live-in property manager. Each guest has their own private, furnished bedroom, while common spaces, such as the kitchen, dining area, and living room, are shared with others who are typically here for work, transition, or extended stays. The home is intentionally designed for people who value calm, routine, and consideration for shared space. Many guests are relocating, between homes, in town for internships or contract work, or staying nearby for family reasons. It’s common for guests to stay longer, settle into a rhythm, and feel at ease rather than rushed. 🪷 Why The Resting Place? Each room is named after a place where rest is found, and the home reflects that same philosophy: simple, clean, uncluttered, and peaceful. This particular room is the Lake Geneva room; you'll find photography from the host during her stay in Lake Geneva. Guests often comment that they feel calm the moment they walk in and that sense tends to carry through their stay. 🧑🏽🍳 Kitchen Guests have full access to a well-equipped, thoughtfully maintained kitchen, including cookware, utensils, shared pantry basics, and complimentary coffee and tea. Many guests prepare simple meals during their stay, and the kitchen is designed to make that feel easy and grounding—especially for those staying longer or navigating a transition. There is dedicated refrigerator space for each guest, so you won’t be competing for room or wondering where your food belongs. The kitchen is cleaned daily by the on-site property manager, which helps keep the space calm, organized, and consistently pleasant to use. While the kitchen is actively used, it’s typically quiet and respectful, with guests cooking at different times and cleaning up after themselves. For many, having a reliable, clean kitchen becomes an important part of feeling settled here. The living and dining areas are similarly shared and maintained—comfortable spaces where guests can read, eat, or unwind without feeling crowded or overstimulated. 👔 Laundry All guests have access to laundry facilities, and detergent and supplies are provided at no cost—one less thing to think about during your stay. 🚿 Bathrooms Bathrooms are shared and are professionally cleaned and well maintained daily, contributing to the overall sense of order and care throughout the home. ⌘ House Atmosphere & Expectations This is not a party house and not a good fit for gatherings, events, or late-night noise. This helps maintain a predictable, low-noise environment that many guests intentionally seek out. 🚗 Parking Free parking is available. Interaction is friendly, respectful, and low-key. Guests are given space and privacy, but support is available if needed, whether that’s a quick question about the home, help orienting yourself, or addressing something that comes up during your stay. The goal is for the home to feel well cared for without feeling monitored. Most guests find the level of interaction comfortable and unobtrusive. You’re free to keep to yourself, or to exchange a friendly hello in shared spaces - whatever feels natural to you. Other things to note There is a cat on the premises—her name is Zivah. She’s almost 2 years old and the perfect little hostess: friendly, curious, and sometimes a bit sassy. She responds best to calm, gentle energy and clear boundaries (key phrases include “calm” and “enough” or “don’t do that” 😄). She’s usually found napping in her window hammock, quietly observing her kingdom. We’ll do our best to keep her out of your room during your stay—unless, of course, you’d like her to visit. 🐾
