Description

Sweet Olive, a place where life is sweet. Perched high on the cliffs overlooking the ocean, unwind and breathe a little deeper. Expansive ocean views from the cliffs of the Fleurieu Peninsula encourage you to settle in and unplug from the world for a while. The space Take in the sights and sounds of nature - wake to the sound of sea birds and the sun rising over the hills of the Fleurieu. Sparkling ocean views throughout the day, make way for spectacular fiery evening sunsets as the sun dips on the horizon. Drift off to sleep with the waves dancing on the cliffs, a midnight sky and a blanket of stars. Your days at Sweet Olive could be spent doing absolutely nothing at all, lazy morning sleep-ins, coffee in the sunroom, write, read or play board games. Perhaps the ocean is calling you to venture down to the beach to swim, surf, fish or just enjoy watching the waves roll in. Hideaway at the end of the day and settle in at Sweet Olive, a space curated to gather with family and friends. An opportunity to escape life’s distractions, reconnect with nature and each other. Sweet Olive is a working farm, home to a salt kissed olive grove on the edge of the hill and a few rambunctious goats. Our lucky guests are treated with rich body products produced from our family farm and we’d highly recommend a good chunk of sourdough dipped into our olive oil with an evening drink. Sometimes we enjoy travelling further afar when we stay. The Fleurieu Peninsula has so much to offer from exceptional dining, an extensive collection of cellar doors, spectacular beaches, farmers markets, and plenty of outdoor adventure if that’s what you choose. Welcome to Sweet Olive! Guest access We are a rural farm property on acreage. Access to our rural and more remote stay is via the backroads of the Fleurieu Peninsula. It’s one of the most scenic drives on the Peninsula, you will more than likely encounter kangaroos, perhaps even one of our adventurous goats! Please anticipate a few bumpy unsealed roads and a drive via the paddock to arrive at Sweet Olive. Sweet Olive sits on the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean therefore cliff hazards are present. Please keep a safe distance from the edge and refrain from climbing over the safety fencing. Children are to be under adult supervision at all times. Other things to note Being a working farm and we are often tending to the animals, maintaining the pasture and the olive grove. If you do see us out on the tractor certainly give us a wave and if you need anything we are never too far away. We respect your privacy during your stay. Sweet Olive is fully immersed in nature so you will often see kangaroos making their way across the property, as well as other native animals. We respect and care for our local flora and fauna and we have no doubt you will too. KITCHEN Sweet Olive’s kitchen is equipped with kitchen basics - Salt & Pepper - Sweet Olive Farm - Olive Oil - South Australian roasted coffee and espresso machine - A selection of organic teas - Sweet Olive - Lemon Verbena Loose Leaf Tea The kitchen features fridge/freezer, toaster, microwave, oven, induction cooktop along with kitchen basics to cook and enjoy meals around our table. We encourage you to bring all the ingredients you need to eat in, we are not located close by any shops. BATHROOM Sweet Olive has two classic bathrooms. We provide plush bath towels and offer our guests our own handmade body wash, just bring your favourite haircare products with you. Given our rural location guests enjoy 100% rain water. We kindly ask that you are little mindful of water usage during your stay, thanks. PETS We have a strict no pet policy. We are a working farm and completely surrounded by nature. Our property is home to native wildlife including lizards, bird life and kangaroos. We provide a safe haven for this wildlife so much so that they have taken up residence just by the house. To protect these species we’ve decided to stay firm on this policy, we hope you can see it from our viewpoint.
