Description
Welcome to Cedar & Bough! If you like tall pines, whispering winds and sunlight filtering through the trees, this spot is perfect for you! Evergreen Holler offers an immersive forest experience without having to trek into the woods yourself. Enjoy a private, peaceful and replenishing stay any time of the year in this off grid tiny home! The space This 8x11’ Bunkie with a loft is set just off pinecone path in our Evergreen Forest. It is equipped with limited solar power, a comfortable queen sized bed in the loft sleeping 2 people, a sofa on the main and a small dining table. It is beautifully decorated and also comes with a camp BBQ and camp fuel stove outside, a 5L water dispenser in the cabin, and basic cooking supplies to make this off-grid Bunkie stay, your most enjoyable one yet. During the colder months, the wood burning stove creates a lovely ambiance while keeping the Bunkie toasty and warm (tutorial available upon request). We provide a propane heater as back up but the primary heating source is the woodstove. *PLEASE NOTE* The Bunkie is not insulated. It will require work throughout the night tending to the fire in the woodstove to keep the space at a comfortable temperature and will need new wood every 1-1.5 hours. This off grid experience will challenge you to provide yourself with the basic necessities that we tend to take for granted in everyday life, like heat. It is important that you are familiar with starting and maintaining a fire. Guests have semi-private access to a beautiful soft sandy beach overlooking a freshwater swimming hole. The cove is nestled among mature trees and beside a tranquil stream that runs through this lush 34 acre property. In the summer, the water in the cove is beautiful and warm as it has full sun all day, the water in the creek is chilly but offers a great spot to cool off or float in the shade. In the winter, enjoy a pond skate (weather and ice conditions permitting) or game of shinny with family and friends. End your day with a cup of hot coffee in the Bunkie or roasting s'mores around a bonfire. In the warm months there is a freezer and a small mini fridge at the washroom and parking area. The washroom is heated in the cold months. It is 150m or a 3-4 minute walk from the Bunkie. Additional coolers with ice are available upon request. With activities for any season and people of any age, you may choose to spend the day on the beach building sand castles, pack up a picnic and head into the forest to explore, take a romantic hike through the property's 'broken bough trail' or have a fun-filled weekend with friends roasting smores around the bonfire. Our Evergreen Holler Bunkie guests have the option to receive a continental breakfast, delivered to the front door each morning for a great start to the day. If you would like to order a charcuterie board for your stay please inquire! We need a minimum of 1 week notice to order. Guest access When you arrive please stay to the left at the fork in the driveway. Signs will direct you to the parking area. The wood stove is the main source of heat and the cabin will get very cold very quickly if it is not being utilized properly. There is a heated portable washroom with a foot pump sink on site that is cleaned regularly for a pleasant and comfortable stay. It is located near the parking area and is a 150 m walk (2-4 minutes) from Evergreen Holler. There is no shower facility on site yet but there is a water dispenser along with an unplumbed antique wash basin in the cabin for washing up. It will require you to heat the water for the basin on the camp fuel stove that is provided. You’re welcome to bring your own portable camping shower. The property has a large variety of animals to see including deer, many species of birds and a variety of fish in the stream. Fishing is permitted in the designated area only.
