Shambala - A Magical Retreat

Welcome to Shambala, a peaceful retreat in the beautiful mountains of Julian! This unique home is perfect for older families, friend getaways or romantic honeymoons. Shambala has magnificent views from every room, a star deck to enjoy Julian's stellar night sky, a well-equipped kitchen, almost 4 acres to explore and a 40' swimming pool to dive into. Birdwatching, apple-picking, gorgeous hikes, great restaurants and fun in the snow - Julian’s got it all! The space Each beautifully decorated room is filled with art, comfort and good vibes! The main bedroom has a Juliette balcony for extra amazing mountain views, a king sized bed for the best dreams ever and an electric fireplace to keep things cozy! The second bedroom is expansive with a queen sized bed that has views to Volcan Mountain and beyond. The third bedroom, called Angels’ Landing, has its own outside access (via steep steps) on the third floor and has two full beds tucked into this heavenly room. It even has its own star deck to gaze at the Milky Way. The kitchen is well stocked and spacious. There is intentionally no microwave to encourage slowing down. The Italian-made convection oven will get the job done! Both well-appointed bathrooms have lovely showers. One bathroom is connected to the primary bedroom and the other bathroom is on the ground floor. Towels and sheets are included. The home is heated in the winter by a wood burning stove and electric fireplaces. In the summer, this well ventilated home has fans and a portable air conditioner in the main bedroom. The property is fully fenced which makes for a wonderful retreat for your dogs, too! A Sonos sound system throughout the house let’s you play your music of choice. For extra fun, we have an outdoor ping pong table, a tree swing, a fire pit, board games and floaties for the pool. A labyrinth has been created to inspire extra peace, love and contemplation. Our home is filled with art, books and personal treasures, and we love sharing it with thoughtful guests who will treat it with care. Because of the delicate nature of some of these pieces, our space is best suited for adults and older, responsible travelers rather than young children or large family groups. Whether you want rest, relaxation, inspiration or fun, Shambala is definitely a glorious getaway for you! Guest access Guests of Shambala have access to the entire 4 acre property except for the guest house and garage which are in a separate structure. Other things to note The pool is heated and available from May through September. For an additional fee, the pool can possibly be heated in the spring (March & April) upon request.
