Description
Featured in The Guardian and Dezeen, Rectangle is an architectural cabin with cinematic wide open Catskill Mountain views in every season, sunrise to moonrise. Designed for deep rest, creative work and weeknight escapes. Quiet, private, modern. Close to Hudson and Great Barrington for coffee, bakeries, galleries, farm stands and dinners out. Watch storms roll in, pink dusk settle over the ridge and stars pierce the dark sky. Book your mid week reset. Weekdays here feel better than weekends. The space Rectangle is one of the Hudson Valley’s most unique stays. Designed with intentional minimalism and built using regenerative materials, the cabin feels grounded, calming and deeply restorative. The hempcrete walls create a quiet, peaceful interior environment that holds warmth, regulates humidity, and makes slow mornings feel extra luxurious. The views of the Catskills stretch wide and unobstructed. Sunrise paints the cabin gold. Fog hangs low on spring mornings. Stars blaze in cold clear winter nights. Guests love Rectangle for creative retreats, solo nervous system resets, and mid week stays where you get more beauty for yourself. Hudson and Great Barrington are both an easy, scenic drive for bakeries, bookstores, antique hunting, farm stands, dinner out and morning coffee missions. Catamount Ski Resort is also close by, about 20 minutes from the cabin. Rectangle has been featured in The Guardian and Dezeen for its design integrity and approach to sustainable building. It is a carbon negative space that invites you to feel the difference. Come for the quiet. Come for the light. Come on a Tuesday and make the middle of your week feel alive and intentional. Where you’ll sleep: Two serene sleeping areas designed for deep rest. One queen bed is nestled in the open main living space with soft natural light and views out to the woods. The second queen bed is in the lofted area above, creating a cozy elevated nook that feels private and cocooned. Both beds have high quality linens and are ideal for quiet mid week stays, slow mornings and restorative nights of sleep. The Space: Rectangle is a modern, minimal cabin designed for slowness and clarity. The open living area has floor to ceiling windows framing the Catskills, with simple, thoughtful furnishings that support ease, not clutter. Cook in the small but efficient kitchenette, read by the light, stretch on the floor, or sink into stillness while the landscape becomes the entertainment. The hempcrete build makes the interior feel grounded, quiet and balanced. You are surrounded by nature but held in comfort. Step outside for starwatching at night or morning coffee with birdsong. Rectangle is intentionally simple so you can think better, feel more, and fully reset, even if you are only staying one night midweek. Why this place is great for working remotely: Rectangle is intentionally simple which makes work feel easier and thinking feel clearer. High speed WiFi, comfortable work surfaces, natural light and quiet surroundings support deep focus without distraction. Many guests come mid week to write, plan, design, reset and get real work done in less time. When you need a break, step outside, breathe in the Catskill views and return refreshed. It is the perfect mid week work retreat. Guest access You’ll have the entire cabin and outdoor space to yourself for the length of your stay. Private entry and easy self check in. Parking is on site. There is another cabin nearby on the land, but you still feel completely alone in the landscape. New draperies throughout the space allow you to adjust privacy as you prefer while still enjoying the views. The environment is calm, quiet, and nature forward, so please respect the land and neighbors. Mid week arrivals are welcome and often the most peaceful time to stay. Other things to note The smoke detectors are very sensitive due to the sustainable materials and design of the home. We encourage outdoor cooking when weather and regulations allow, but please be mindful that this is a forested area and there are often seasonal red flag warnings and burn bans. Always check current local guidelines before any open flame. Bears and other wildlife are present in the region, so please store food securely and keep outdoor areas clean. We are also available for curated retreats, creative stays and elevated concierge support. Ask us about local farm goods, seasonal produce, specialty local makers, and recommendations to make your stay feel even more meaningful, intentional and rooted in the region. We welcome small editorial shoots, artist work sessions and intimate, intentional micro retreats with prior approval.
