Get together with friends (up to 12) to create memories. Scrapbookers, jewelry makers, sewists, crocheters, knitters, lure makers and crafters will enjoy the large upstairs retreat space. Smoke & pet free, located in the woods of Prestwould.Flat fee rentals-up to 4 hrs- $50/full day-8 hrs $75/8+ hrs or overnight-$90 + fees.Access from 9am until 5pm. The space The rental is for large (75x15) second floor space (NO OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS) for your group only and is priced use (4hr, daytime or full day), not per person, making it very affordable and flexible for smaller groups. Our retreat is not handicapped accessible, there is a ramp but 15 steps up to 2nd floor sewing/crafting area. With private rentals we don’t supply lessons or assistance with your projects, however, please feel free to bring your own speaker or arrange for class. Located on property that was once part of a plantation, come to recharge and relax at this tranquil location, while completing some UFO's, start a new project or learn a new skill. The space is also great for scrapbooking groups, jewelry makers, painters and people who need space to spread out while working on their projects. There are crafting/sewing; entertainment and refreshment areas. You decide on the best temperature for the group using separate thermostat. In addition, movable fans, Keurig machine, microwave, mini-fridge and table with seating for 10, are in refreshment area. Host also supplies coffee, teas, cups, plates and utensils. We have extra tables as well, so it could accommodate more. Entertainment area has a couch and daybed for seating. There is a large screen tv that you can use and Alexa devices to play music. Great area for some hand stitching, needlework, watching YouTube videos or just chilling out. Crafting/Sewing area can be set up with separate tables for each person (max 8 or if people want to double up, 12); two cutting stations and ironing stations and two design wall areas. Custom packages available if you need to borrow sewing machine and/or supplies (fabric, cutting tools, notions, etc.), Need a break? Clarksville is the perfect place to enjoy the largest lake in Virginia, nearby parks, Lake Fest, Historical Prestwould Plantation, and the quaint downtown with several shops as well as nearby breweries and wineries. Several fabric shops within an hour or so. Check out the two guidebooks I've prepared for ideas and options. Sure, you could head back home, but why let the fun end at 6? Thinking about staying overnight? Book the 2 bedroom separate listing on the first floor and enjoy a good nights’ sleep, or continuing working on your project until 10PM. In the morning, start your day off drinking coffee or tea on the back deck or front porch, while being serenaded by several different species of birds, watch the squirrels and their silly antics, or observe the hummingbirds and enjoy the country life. Then head upstairs and get a jump on your project. After your day of crafting/sewing, being on the lake or exploring the area, overnight guests can take a relaxing shower and either kick back and relax, or head out to one of the local breweries, wineries, restaurants or other festivals going on, or saunter upstairs to finish your projects. Afterwards, play games on the deck or in the dining room, enjoy some star gazing, share your stories and laughs, reflecting on your day. Guest access Guests have private access to the hall bathroom on first floor. They also have access to front porch, large back deck, living room, dining room, kitchen area with coffee bar and tea station over 30 selections of teas. Make arrangements in advance, and hold your own “Tea Party” for up to 8 people. During your stay Host is on-site to assist and answer your questions and will be involved as much or as little as you prefer. There is a separate listing for first floor with two bedrooms and one dedicated bathroom for overnight accommodations. Other things to note To book our “Stitch by the Kitch”, which is held on the first floor, indicate that when requesting dates. Fee for that option, $50, $7.50 per person (min. 4), plus taxes and AirBnB fee. Home and property are completely pet, drug and smoke free. It is not handicapped accessible, there is a ramp coming in to house and 15 steps to second floor. We have 2 small coolers you can take as you explore the area. At night, enjoy looking at the stars or we are 45 minutes from Staunton River Park, one of the National Dark Sky parks.
