The Bushwhacker cabin is a rebuilt pre-civil war log cabin on 10 acres with spectacular mountain views. The cabin is surrounded by the Monongahela National forest with hiking trails starting from the cabin and a beautiful mountain steam that runs on the property, providing a calming, stress free background. The Bushwhacker cabin is only a short distance to the Marlinton Williams river , 45min to Snowshoe, scenic highway, the Greenbrier,Hot Springs VA, and Lewisburg WV(voted coolest town) The space The secluded Bushwhacker cabin is beautifully appointed and perfect for nature lovers or just as a quite get away. With stunning views and an upscale kitchen, it is perfect for family vacations or intimate porch dining. The spacious kitchen features a Viking 6 burner gas stove, Viking double oven, Subzero refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher and a work station sink. The antique Hoosier cabinet and custom chestnut and wormy oak cabinets offer storage for coffee maker, and all the small appliances, pots, pans and cookware needed. The living room is equipped with a gas fire place and a tv with basic cable and DVD player. This room is very rustic and provides the real log cabin experience for gathering after a long day to relax and enjoy. The Bushwhacker cabin has Frontier high speed internet that can be used for tele commuting or just surfing the web to find out about the many events and activities that the area has to offer. Additionally, the cabin has a landline for local and emergency calls. The master bedroom is on the main level with a queen-sized bed and armoire for hang up and clothes storage. Both the master and living room have ceiling fans and supplied window fans to cool things at night when needed. All rooms are equipped with digital thermostats Mysa that work to keep the home cozy during cold weather. Additional beds are in the loft over the living room and the living room has a pull-out sofa to accommodate maximum guests notice of use prior to stay is required. The bathroom is on the main level with a walk-in shower and stacked washer/dryer. Guest access Guests have access to the main cabin and deck with hot tub and grill, there is an addtion that is unfinished unaccessable. Other things to note No Parties 4wd a must in the winter Must adhere to house rules The area has high mineral content which can cause a metallic taste not to everyone’s liking though safe to drink (bottled water is an option), we do not recommend washing light colored clothing because it may discolor due to the iron content. There is a hot tub at the cabin for relaxing after a hard day at the slopes or hike in the mountains. Guests are cautioned to not get into the tub with oils of body lotions please shower first. These oils will potentially damage the tub and will require draining and cleaning the tub. A $100 cost will be deducted from the deposit if draining and cleaning is required. We will document that the tub is clean prior to arrival and access afterwards please respect the opportunity to enjoy. Hot tub towels are not provided. There is NO cell service at the cabin so please print out the directions given prior to leaving. The closest cell service is in Marlinton. Also, we charge a cleaning fee, and must charge a 6% "resort fee". That's a fancy name for the 6% local occupancy tax we must pay per stay to the Pocahontas County Sheriff. In addition, as of June 6, 2019, Airbnb will collect 6% WV sales tax per booking directly from guests. Please be aware that we are not making any money off any of these taxes. Pets are allowed (limit 2) with extra security deposit. Dogs must be crated when the owner is not present in the cabin and kept off the furniture and beds. Dog owners are expected to clean up after their dogs in the front yard (bags are not provided), and not track heavy mud into the house. The property is not set up for young children, for example there is a spiral stair case, deck above ground and non- safety latched cabinets. Owners are responsible for their children to assure their safety for example not allowing them in the hot tub, climbing spiral stairs etc. We will consider children over 3, please let us know ages of all children that would be guests.
