Enjoy our main guest bedroom (comfortable Queen size bed) with private (vintage) restroom & entrance, on our great landscaped 117 acres Ranch with 15 horses, Golden retrievers and ancestral forest! You can either choose to spend time with horses, make a walk on the historical bicycle trail connected to the ranch), or to pet our golden retriever puppies, dedicated to becoming service dogs. You can even take a walk with them! Animal lovers are welcome & breakfast is possible in bedroom too. The space Thank you for your reservation! Hello and welcome to "Horse Kingdom Florida"—our equestrian park and ranch dedicated to horses, which roam freely across more than 100 acres of land! We have indicated that when you arrive, you will find a gate close to 2 white horses : please you can open the gate, just thank you to close it after you for the safety of the two stallions! We are half a mile away, just follow the path to the house throughout our wonderful forest of grandaddy oaks! Here is some additional information regarding our ranch, nestled right in the heart of nature! Here, we live joyfully in the great outdoors; our setting is charming and bucolic—lush and green—populated by horses, vast pastures, and forests of centuries-old oak trees. In short, it is a lovely, well-hidden little paradise situated right on the doorstep of Gainesville, Florida. Our lifestyle is that of "gentlemen farmers": we begin tending to the animals at 7:30 AM and often don't finish our day until around 9:00 PM. Our entire family spends a tremendous amount of time outdoors, enjoying nature and the company of the animals. Inside the house, you will appreciate the air conditioning, which ensures a pleasant level of comfort. Although the house—which dates back to 1981—features furnishings and decor that are a bit dated, the space remains comfortable and clean, with very cozy beds—qualities that travelers generally appreciate above all else. That said, if you prefer modern, urban environments—without nature right on your doorstep—or if you enjoy cutting-edge design featuring state-of-the-art amenities, you may be disappointed. We fully embrace an authentic, "vintage" country-home style—a place where everything is practical, even if it isn't the latest fashion! If this presents a problem for you, please do not hesitate to modify your reservation. We welcome you here in the spirit of a small country farm rather than that of a four-star hotel; our priority lies, above all, in outdoor activities—whether that means interacting with the horses, playing with our puppies, or taking a refreshing dip in our "cowboy pool" when the heat sets in! Please note that we typically have one or two Golden Retrievers present in the house. If you suffer from allergies—and please bear in mind that our dogs shed frequently—rest assured that we vacuum regularly and do our utmost to maintain impeccable cleanliness; however, it is possible that residual allergens may remain. We kindly ask that you take this into consideration. Should this situation cause you any discomfort, we suggest modifying your reservation, as the presence of our animals is an integral part of the overall experience we offer. Thank you very much! Our home is a long, entirely brick-built structure, designed according to the principle of a "nesting house": it consists of three interconnected sections of decreasing size, constructed in the style of a traditional French *longère* (farmhouse). It is a private property—topped with a metal roof—nestled directly beneath 11 majestic, centuries-old oak trees. This layout allows for a distinct separation between the various living spaces: bedrooms, living room, kitchen, and other rooms. We will be present on the premises, along with our family, during your stay. We hope this will not cause you any inconvenience; however, should this shared living arrangement present a problem for you, we invite you to contact us again to modify your reservation. Our family present on-site consists of two adults and two children: a 14-year-old teenager and a 4-year-old boy. We—the parents—will keep our youngest child close to us throughout your stay to ensure that he does not disturb you or make any noise during the night. My husband is a "gentleman farmer" who looks after our horses as well as our Golden Retrievers. We currently have two adorable litters—totaling nine Golden Retriever puppies—some of which are still available for adoption; in fact, you will have the opportunity to cuddle them during your visit! As for me, when I am on-site (as I often travel across Canada to manage our second animal park, located north of Montreal), I work as a university professor, teaching new media and interspecies communication. By appointment, I can sometimes offer training sessions on communicating with horses—a practice known as "liberty work." Sessions cost approximately $90 per hour and are absolutely fascinating—whether conducted with a single horse or several. Indeed, they allow you to communicate with the horses as equals, establishing a relationship founded on friendship, leadership, and your own body language—all executed with precise timing. These are signals that the animal instinctively understands and responds to—at various gaits—whether by moving away, following you, or coming when called, simply because you are suddenly "speaking horse"! We host over 15 horses on-site, including four stallions. Additionally, you are more than welcome to bring apples and carrots to feed the horses; however, we do ask that you inform us in advance whenever you wish to give them something to eat. This simple precaution allows us to monitor their intake, ensuring we safeguard their health and prevent colic—a condition that can sometimes be fatal to horses depending on the food consumed. Please also feel free to take selfies with the horses, as well as with the puppies! Thank you. Please also note that our second guest room is now located on the upper floor. You will find photos of it attached. It also features an en-suite (private) bathroom. However, due to its upstairs location—or if this arrangement does not suit you—we invite you to contact us if you have special needs. You also have the option to cancel your reservation free of charge if stairs (approximately 20 steps) would pose a problem for you; alternatively, the rooms can be swapped with the ground-floor room, provided your friends agree!
