BUTZE with a view of the field

Enjoy the nature of the Thuringian Basin directly from the bed of our Butze. With a breathtaking view from the large panoramic window, a unique night is virtually guaranteed. In the surrounding and very spacious garden you can relax, visit our mirror ark (art room with annual exhibitions) and learn new things about plants in our aborethum. The space "BUTZE! is a self-initiated project with the aim of contributing to the sustainable touristic enhancement of rural areas through minimal interventions. In secluded locations, nature lovers will find individually designed shelters - so-called BUTZEs! - which serve as night quarters, protection from the elements, or unique retreats." - TAKTAK Architecture Office of BUTZE. As designed by the architects, the BUTZE is a minimalist accommodation that deliberately forgoes all frills in order to focus the overnight experience solely on the encounter with nature. Woken up by the sun in the morning and lulled to sleep by the stars at night, one could not get any closer to the spectacle of nature. Up to three people (2 adults, 1 children) can sleep simultaneously in the BUTZE Please bring your own sleeping bags. However, we can also provide bedding and towls for an additional 10€ per booking for the entire stay. In addition, there is a garden toilet and garden shower (not heated), which you can use (see pictures). To prepare food you are welcome to use the kitchen of our café and our summer kitchen. Pots and dishes we have enough for you! Guest access The BUTZE is located within a large garden that invites exploration and activity. In addition to various seating areas, sculptures, a trampoline, and our arboretum with a variety of plants, you can visit the "Spiegelarche". The Spiegelarche is comprised of two stacked mirrored containers, which will serve for five years as the venue for art exhibitions and installations, interactive social projects, lectures, readings, workshops, and concerts. Atop the stairs of the Spiegelarche, you can gaze out over the expanses of the Thuringian countryside, and with a cool "Sun-Downer" drink in hand, you can watch the sunset. Other things to note We are happy if you bring your pets! Please note that you should bring your own sleeping mat and sleeping bag. If you prefer to sleep on a mattress with blankets, we can provide those for an additional 10€.
