Description
Escape to a remodeled guest cabin tucked among the tall pines on our family’s 5 acres. Just 20 minutes from Chico & 1 hour from Lassen National Park. Enjoy the warmth of the pellet stove, cozy bedding, fire pit, and thoughtful touches throughout as well as amenities like fast wifi, BBQ and washer/dryer. If you’re craving a quiet place to rest, a home base for adventure, or a breath of fresh mountain air, you’ll find it here. Hike, bike, swim, or explore by day and return to quiet forest comfort. The space The furnishings and amenities in this space are intentionally curated to help you slow down and unwind. Start with the Cal King bed and Casper memory foam mattress, dressed in fresh linens for a restful night’s sleep. The warm, open space includes a 55” Roku smart TV, dining table, sofa, and a small library of our favorite books, along with games and puzzles for relaxed evenings in. The kitchenette is stocked with all the essentials—Nespresso, pour-over setup, fridge, kettle, microwave, hot plate, toaster, and basic cooking needs—so you can enjoy meals at home. You’ll also have a washer and dryer, Starlink Wi-Fi for staying connected, and a pellet stove fireplace for warm winter stays. Every detail is designed to help you feel at home. Outside, the forest is alive with wildlife. Deer, turkey, and salamanders are regular visitors, and we have a songbird return annually to nest outside the front door. We’re actively tending the property, clearing overgrown forest areas, and rehabilitating a small old orchard. The cabin sits adjacent to our home on the property yet remains peaceful and private. Guest access The cabin shares the property with our home but a large portion of the yard is maintained solely for the use of cabin guests. We occasionally rent our house as well. The studio space feels private with no obligation to interact with the main house residents. You’ll be able to check in independently via a smart lock to the entirely independent guest-house unit. Other things to note Our personal background is in regenerative agriculture and our family operates this property as a small homestead. At different times of the year it will feel more active in that regard than others. We occasionally have poultry on the property and we have previously grazed a herd of goats with livestock guardian dogs to help thin the forest and keep it healthy. There is also a small orchard and some forested acreage that you may see someone tending during your stay although we strive to minimize this work while guests are on site.
