Description

This is one of 2 suites on our waterfront. The other 3 bungalows are tucked away. This suite has great views of the lake and volcanoes and is only steps away from a quick dip in the beautiful waters of Lake Atitlan. Prices drastically lower for direct booking and with more available dates. The space Located on the shores of Lake Atitlán under the San Pedro, Atitlán, and Toliman volcanoes, La Fortuna at Atitlan is tucked into the private bay of Patzisotz, only a 5 minute boat ride from Panajachel. Here you can relax in our lush jungle and gardens, and take in the view of Central America’s most spectacular lake. We have two bungalow suites with king size beds, and luxurious private spa like outdoor garden bathrooms with hot tubs, and two regular bungalows with queen beds, and private luxurious garden bathrooms. Breakfast and dinner is available. Hiking, kayaking, scuba diving, and exploring the indigenous villages around the lake can be organized through the lodge. Come and experience the natural and cultural wonder of Lago Atitlán at La Fortuna in Guatemala's most beautiful tourist destination. Suites are from $149 US a night, and regular rooms are from $99 US/night. High season rates are higher (November to April). We are the only hotel on a private bay - and attract lots of birds including nesting herons because of the tranquility and being off the beaten track. We have a lake front hot tub and free wi-fi on the property for all guests to enjoy. Please note that this location is not ideal for those with mobility issues or small children (no children under 12 years of age). Guest access We are only accessible by boat. The public boats pass our private bay coming from Panajachel the port town (5 minutes away) between 6:45 and 7:30pm daily. This ride costs 10q a person and the boats pass every 15 to 20 minutes. You can also arrange a private boat here from Panajachel for $15 US for 2 passengers. Other things to note We love to host happy guests, and we feel that total transparency makes for happy guests. We are located in a private bay with no foot or road access to a town. It's easy to catch a boat during the day to visit other towns, but if you are looking to party in a village you will have to arrange a private boat after 7:30pm. Also we are located in the jungle - nature so you will see insects such as spiders, flies, butterflies, etc. They are no dangerous but they do live here and we are guests in their home. We are on off-grid 100% solar powered hotel so we also like to remind our guests that our power is limited. We have power almost all the time, and it's fine to charge telephones, computers and use lights, but high powered devices such as hair dryers, curling irons, straighteners kill our deep cycle batteries and you potentially will knock out the power for the entire property - including our wifi.
