Downstairs you will find a full bathroom complete with a claw foot bath. We have an espresso machine, board games, puzzles and even an outdoor shower! On the deck you will find a BBQ and outdoor fire pit area for relaxing. Located on beautiful Saturna Island in a very private forested 1 acre lot. The space The space has a queen bed and twin bed. It is best suited to a couple or small family. If you are a family with more children, think the space will work for you and want to book, please send me a message so I can help accommodate the booking for you. This fun & funky space is set inside a 1963 Double Decker Bus. Originally built to serve as a transport bus in the countryside in the UK, this Leyland was originally designed to fit under bridges but still have two floors for transporting passengers, the result inside is short ceilings at about 5'8 in height. In 1978, The Bus was selected to be a mascot for the 1978 Commonwealth Games which took place in Edmonton that year. they pulled the bus from transport duty, gave her a makeover and shipped her to Canada to be the team mascot. Once the games were over, the Bus was sold privately and spent a number of years in Shuswap Lake as an ice cream truck. When we found her, she had been sitting in a tow yard for the better part of a decade and was missing almost all of her windows and was decorated with bullet holes down the sides, she needed a complete renovation. The Bus didn't run, so we had her towed to our property on Saturna Island where we converted her into a coffee shop. I operated the Coffee shop for about 6 years before we decided to convert her one last time into her final role as a vacation rental. We are located about 4 kilometers from the ferry terminal down Narvaez bay road. About a 10 minute walk to the General store and a few minutes from the top of the Lyall harbour waterfall trail. Guest access There is a door code so you can check in on your own schedule. The space is completely self contained, very private and has its own driveway, set in a beautiful alder, cedar and Douglas fir forest. Other things to note The ceilings inside the Bus are a short 5'8 in height, it is very important all of our guests understand this before booking.
