Welcome to Honk Hideaway – a 100 year old log cabin tucked away on a private road with gorgeous views of the Catskill Mountains. This cozy and rustic retreat offers a quiet getaway only 90 miles from NYC. Enjoy the stone fireplace, covered porch, fire pit and BBQ grill. This calm oasis is secluded but only 3 miles from the restaurants in Ellenville. Close by are hiking trails, state parks and waterfalls. The cabin is ideal for couples, a small family vacation or a solo escape. The space The cabin is only 525 square feet so it is pretty cozy. The beds in the cabin can only support 3 people so there is a maximum limit of 3 guests including children. This log cabin is surrounded by woods so you can expect to see the occasional critter or insect. Thought the cabin is very rustic, it has many modern amenities. The galley kitchen has a microwave, 2 burner induction stove, coffee maker, toaster and a mini fridge. There is a full set of pots and pans for cooking but please note that the cabin does not have an oven or dishwasher. The living room has an electric fireplace, smart TV, and a Bluetooth speaker. Cell phone reception is good and the cabin has high speed Wifi for streaming and internet access. There are some board games available (chess, checkers, backgammon, Scrabble and Monopoly) and a small lending library. Feel free to take a book or share a book. The bathroom is pretty unique as it doubles as the mud room. A barn door provides privacy for the shower and toilet. Please note the cabin has a shower stall but no bathtub. Outside the cabin is a large porch with rocking chairs and a swing. The yard also has a charcoal BBQ grill and a fire pit. We do not supply charcoal or firewood. If you need to buy some, the local markets carry both of these items. The cabin is situated on a hill so it is usually a few degrees cooler than towns down below. During the summer, ceiling fans in the living room and the main bedroom keep the temperature comfortable. If needed, air conditioning is provided in the living room. Guest access Guests will have access to entire cabin and the 2 parking spaces next to the driveway. Other things to note Minimum age to rent: 25 There is no smoking or vaping inside the cabin. Strictly no parties are allowed. Due to pet allergies, pets of any kind are not allowed.
