The space The dome is set on our pick-your-own farm, up on top of the hill in a private area of butterfly preserve. It is upscale 3-season camping (spring, fall, winter), with luxury of a structure instead of a tent. There's sweeping views of the Appalachian Mountains, seasonal flowers and produce for picking (August - October) walking trails., & farm animals to interact with. They love humans and will not harm you. Just drive slowly. The will likely "escort" your vehicle all over the farm. Please refrain from letting our dogs greet yours, if they should there is a chance they may not get along. 🏕 WHAT TO BRING 🛌 Bring your own QUEEN SHEETS or sleeping bags. A warm blanket and two uncased bed pillows are provided 🧊 Bring a COOLER and ICE. If something is missing there is a dollar general 5 minutes up the main road (91) This is camping! Nature will be close. If you are not an avid outdoor enthusiast, this may be a great way to ease into what raw tent camping is like. Expect to possibly encounter nature's many forms, like bugs, wildlife, water, wind, dirt, and new sounds and scents. Also expect to be greeted by up to 2 farm dogs. They bark (thats their job to keep the farm safe from coyotes), but they love humans! ❤️ The farm at the entrance far below will be full of animals. You are most welcome to visit them any time during the day! Q: What utilities are available? A: PROPANE HEAT, PROPANE GRIDDLE for cooking and heating beverage water in a kettle, SOLAR battery for charging personal devices and running a light, and a lovely natural outhouse that is nicer than most campground bathrooms. Q: When is the outdoor shower open? A: Our off grid outdoor shower is open from May - october! Q: Do you provide firewood? A: We provide kindling, but cannot provide firewood logs at this time. Please purchase a bundle at the nearby Dollar General or other grocery. Q: Can my car make the drive up to the dome? A: Yes, there is a turnaround on top of the hill. Just be careful to stay on the gravel, it is steep if you back up too far. Q: Will the outdoor solar lights turn on automatically? A: Yes, at dark they turn on. If a previous guest tampered with their switch and turned them off though, you can just press the button on the back of the solar panels attached to each light strand. Update: we lost some of our lighting during the hurricane and have ordered more. Q: Can I explore? Yes! There are trails and a long driveway that lead to various scenery and animal enclosures. You may come down on foot to the populated areas and roam around to pet the other farm animals. Or, you can drive down. Please leave your dogs in your vehicle when you visit the farm down at Basecamp. Walking your dog up at the campsites is permitted on a leash, and please clean up after them. Do not feed them anything except what is provided in the green mailbox. Our little farm terrier, Charlie, will likely greet you with his silly huffy attitude, but he is not vicious. There's also a young Australian shepherd mixe here. They are friendly!
