It is perfect for groups of any size ranging from a small family to a larger group. It is located near the village of Jaibalito on the north shore of Lake Atitlan. The space House & 2 bungalows--total 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths--sleeps 1 to 13 Described by Aldous Huxley as 'the most beautiful lake in the world,' Lake Atitlan is a breathtaking cool and tropical expanse of water, dramatic cliffs and villages. Our estate, on the roadless north shore, has a parrot's eye view of 3 dormant volcanic peaks. Switzerland meets the Caribbean! Casa Pamakanya is a 15 minute boat ride from the little town of Panajachel and a 15-20 minute walk from the village of Jaibalito. Take a public boat (they run all day) or hire a private launch for your group. Casa Pamakanya, is a work of art, literally. It's a bewitching maze of stone steps, walks and patios tucked into shady gardens, built over fifteen years by a renowned architect and a gifted local stonemason. Fruit grows all around. The dock is perfect for jumping off into clear waters or into our kayaks--paddle to nearby restaurants for smoothies, meals, a swim in the pool & delicious lunch at VenAca, rock jumping, or take a tour along the gorgeous coast. The main house includes a large covered porch with a long dining table, hammock, couch and chairs, and a gorgeous view. The house sleeps 5-6 and serves as the primary kitchen and gathering area during your stay. The interior layout is open and includes a full newly upgraded kitchen, living room, master bedroom, loft, full bath with both a tub and shower - and the best view you'll ever have from a bathroom - plus 4 fireplaces. The upper house is a large light-filled open space which includes a stone patio and sitting area, open but divided sleeping area, large sink, and a full bath with shower. The wide windows offer an incredible view of the lake. This house comfortably sleeps 4-5. The lower house ('la casita'), at lakeside, is a cozy studio, which sleeps 4-5, and has an half bathroom plus an outdoor shower (accessible to all), large sink and a large covered patio overlooking the water. All three houses include coffee makers and purified drinking water. Guest access Beautiful gardens, a hiking path, amazing views of the lake and volcanoes, a fabulous dock for swimming off of or just hanging out, 4 kayaks, several restaurants within walking or paddling distance, fruit and herbs from the garden, natural hot springs, serenity, adventure and so much more (including home cook indigenous meals for a small additional fee). Other things to note We do not rent to multiple parties at a time but the rates and access to additional houses are determined based on the number of people in your party. The rental for the main house is for 1-4 people ; the main house & upper house is for 5-8 & all three houses is 9 or more. There is a small incremental charge of $21/day if you'd like to add use of additional houses beyond the size of your rental party. Please request this & it will be added separately.
