Cute, new, modern duplex in renovated schoolhouse
Enjoy a stylish experience at this centrally-located space. This is a renovated duplex, created from little brick schoolhouse built in early 1900’s. It has a tiny home feel. Original, historic maple wood floors mixed with a modern style. Gorgeous windows allow in natural lighting. Loft bedroom, full kitchen, and washer/dryer combo unit. Everything you need for a private night/weekend away. Walking distance to downtown & hospital. Private drive. Best for 1 person. CAN fit 3 if small family. You enter into a mud room with a closet for coats and shoes, bags, umbrellas, etc. Heading into the apartment, the full bathroom includes a good size shower, sink toilet and combination washer dryer unit. Into the kitchen, there are beautiful historical hardwood floors and butcher block counters with an island. The space is well lit with 13 foot high ceilings, and 72” windows. The small loft bedroom fits just a twin size bed and a small shelf. Under the loft is the black velvet pull out sofa, with memory foam mattress, storage ottoman and smart tv. The pull out sofa is a full size technically, but it is not a very thick mattress and it feels and looks small. If you are a very big person, you may not be comfortable on the pull out. It is best for smaller people or kids. Please reach out if you want more clarity about the sleeping situation. This really is best suited for one person but CAN accommodate three. You will have your own entry with a lockbox. We live about 15 minutes away and can be there pretty promptly, for any reason if need be. We are also happy to give guests privacy. Once checked in, I am happy to give my phone number. Text messaging is the most effective way to reach me. The Space is located on a friendly, safe road behind the Giffords ice cream plant and around the corner from Redington Fairview hospital. It is just a block away or two from a pizza shop, an Indian Restaurant, and a local bar. It is within a mile from a local gym, and downtown Skowhegan where you will find shops, a bakery, a coffee shop and cafe, and other small business. It is just about two miles away from uptown, where you’ll find a Walmart, Hannaford, fast food restaurants, etc. It is very easy to navigate out small town. You can walk to a lot of places, but traffic is not really an issue if you choose to drive. You will have your own private driveway that fits 1-2 cars or street side parking is also available and free. This is a duplex and there will be tenants in the opposite side. Feedback so far has been that it works out well, but it is good to consider that you will have a neighbor so to be conscious of your noise levels.
