"The Love Shack" For Couples - Hot Tub, Meals

The ultimate couples getaway! This small cottage is located on our 20 acre farm. The farm, named for our 4 children's Eight Bare Feet that are often running around, is located halfway between South Haven and Saugatuck, making it a great location for visiting either city.  As locals to the area, we are happy to help you plan your trip - looking forward to sharing our property with you! The space "The Love Shack" got its name when we first moved here 13 years ago and began renovating it. For over 100 years, this property was owned by the same family, and the small cottage on the back of the residence was used as a caretaker cottage. My brother lived with us for a time when we purchased the property, and joked that he was going to renovate it and turn it into his "Love Shack" and the name stuck. The cottage is small, just a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom, and two small closets. But it is incredibly comfortable, quiet, relaxing and has everything you need for a restful getaway. Although it is on our property, it is very private. The cottage itself cannot be seen from the road, and very little of it is visible from the main house. Guest access The property itself is large - behind the main residence (our home) is a large backyard, several outbuildings, barns, kids play area, hot tub and inground pool. The pool and hot tub behind our house can be used by request - please let us know beforehand if you are interested in using them. Guests will have access to a parking space near the cottage, the cottage itself, the private patio and yard behind the cottage is always available, and we offer seasonal outdoor amenities (typically March-November depending on winter weather) Those amenities include a hammock, private inflatable hot tub, chairs, fire pit, a dining table/chairs, and small gas grill. If you are interested in walking through the fields or property, let us know and we can show you around. Other things to note Two other details. 1. This property is surrounded by working farmland. Although it is very quiet here, there may be times where there are tractors, workers tending fields, and odd smells (haha!) 2. We have dogs, cats and chickens on the property. The chickens free-range, but are unlikely to come near the cottage. Our three dogs are very friendly and we will try to keep them away from you, but can't promise! And we have indoor/outdoor cats that may approach you for pets.
