Idyllic Shepherd Hut in Dartmoor

Holiday in your own, non-shared space overlooking a stunning water meadow with ancient woodland views, lawn with BBQ and firepit, seating and table. The light and atmosphere of this inspirational place gives peace and relaxation, with the most stunning views, a space to chill, meditate, make memories. This is a family endeavour, we would be delighted to welcome you for your Devon Adventure! The space After a long stay guest over the winter, as of March 2026 we are now open again to holiday makers! Relax by the pond, take in the gorgeous views and spot all the different nature attracted to the water. Come and enjoy some special time together, making wonderful memories - leave all the hustle and bustle behind you and spend time in a simpler way. Relax, rest and treasure the precious moments. Walk, swim, climb, read, play music, roast marshmallows on the fire and snuggle up. Our spacious Shepherd Hut is fully insulated with double glazing. It has a King size bed with a very comfortable mattress as well as a double sofa bed, you will just need to bring your own bedding. There is a wood burner which heats the Shepherd Hut beautifully for a cosy stay. The kitchen is situated beside the Shepherds Hut and includes water, worktop, electric socket, 20L oven, 2 ring gas hob, fridge, freezer section. All crockery, cutlery, glasses, utensils and pots and pans included. The shower is also within this wooden structure, gas heated. The Loo is a compost loo situated close to the Shepherds Hut. If you are looking for a family holiday feel free to bring an extra tent to put up outside on the lawn! Plenty of room, £10 extra per person (child or adult), per night, all done through the booking system. Make memories and have experiences that there are less and less places to do so! BBQ available to use to cook on, with coals supplied for your first night. There is also a Fire Pit to use as you can see in the photos. We supply you with logs to use for the fire pit, so one less thing to pack. Just make sure to bring the skewers and marshmallows! Bring your own food, drink, loo rolls, extra BBQ coals, tea towels, shower towels, bed sheet, duvet cover, pillow covers (actual duvet and pillows supplied for the Shepherd Hut. Shower towels and bed linen can be provided for an extra charge on arrival, just message to let us know beforehand!). Guest access The Lawn has a fire pit, small BBQ, table, chairs, enjoy the most stunning evening light and skies. Your close neighbours will be the roe deer visiting and you can hear the chiming of the Buckfast Abbey Bells and the whinnying of the horses in the stable yard. We have crafted a wildlife pond, below the lawn area near The Hut. Guests with children should be vigilant but will hopefully be able to explore even more nature and wildlife during your stay! Other things to note You will drive through the horse yard to get to our Shepherd Hut and can then park up right beside for your convenience.
