New home (2023) on the Inland Waterway. Launch your boat nextdoor at The Forks (DNR), cast a line or cruise the 3-connected rivers and 3-lakes that stretch nearly to Petoskey. Enjoy nature's beauty! Many restaurants lie along the Waterway and in downtown Cheboygan a mere 5-min away. 20-min to Mackinaw City and Mac Island ferries. 45-min to vineyards in Petoskey. State parks, beaches, bikes, hikes, and cross country skiing in all directions. Bring a book, kick back and stay a while. This duplex home was newly built July 2023. Airbnb Guests occupy the main level home (South side). Owner occupies the upper level home above the garage (North side). Guests have their own parking pad and private patio. Guests should find comfort with all of their amenities to the right side of the wooden fence. Rainy-day fun inside the living room game cabinet. Although I live on the premises, I am often out of town. Please feel comfortable texting or calling me anytime. If I am home during your visit, please introduce yourself. Groceries and essentials available within walking distance (street-frontage). Cheboygan is a quiet town with little shops and restaurants plus plenty of free downtown parking. The Clay Slipper is located 5-min from town on busy M-27 with shoulder access for walking/biking - no sidewalk for the first mile. Access town on the State Trail system from the front door. 20-min to Mackinaw City. 45-min to Petoskey. Park your boat/RV trailer at The Clay Slipper. (Please call ahead for instructions.) Boat-launch site next door. Recreational trails in every direction!! Black Mountain Rec Area, Burt Lake Trail, Huron Sunrise, Little Traverse Wheelway, North Central- North Eastern- and North Western- State Trails, and more opportunities to hike, bike, or run. Cheboygan is a very safe community with nearly no crime. Away from the hustle of cities, Cheboygan is a “Trails Town.” The Clay Slipper is on the Inland Waterways trail (by boat) and a short stretch from the US-23 Heritage Route (by bike). Many nearby State Parks offer spectacular walking trails. Don’t forget Lake Huron beaches!!
