Ásheimar, cozy apartment on our "island" Heimaey

Ásheimar Means something like "World of Gods and Goddesses" The space I put all my love into the expansion of this apartment. It was very important to me that the charm of the more than 200-year-old house be maintained with the lively beams and clay walls; I deliberately kept the one bedroom open to the living room for a light and airy feeling of space. In summer it is pleasantly cool here and in winter we enjoy the soothing warmth of the stove. The apartment is simply and cozily furnished, the large table in the living room invites you to festive meals, to work or fun game evenings and the sofa as well as the proverbial cozy armchair by the stove for relaxation or as a favorite place with a book or handicraft. The kitchen itself is a cozy room, whose kitchenette is equipped with everything that guarantees a cozy stay (incl. dishwasher). Next to the beautiful red stove there is a small dining area with 4 seats. Guest access The site is directly adjacent to a nature reserve with meadow, forest and moor, behind which the sun sets in the evening and cranes as well as fog elves occasionally perform their dances. Floor-to-ceiling windows open from the house, so you can be in the middle of nature even in cold months. The "lobby" is a huge heated conservatory, which is equipped with a large dining table and fantastic views over the terrace into the garden and the nature reserve. The over 80 m² terrace with adjoining cozy "remise" offers a variety of uses. In the garden, the sauna is in a trailer and there are opportunities for barbecues and campfires and space to relax in a hammock or to fly shuttlecocks and frisbees. A popular highlight is to make big and small jumps on the huge trampoline embedded in the meadow. Children will find plenty of space to explore and play. Heimaey offers space for new ideas and creativity, for breathing and recharging, for communication and silence. Here there is space to read, look into the distance, think, do yoga, paint, do handicrafts, sing, make music or dream and/or celebrate in front of the wood-burning stove or at the fireplace. Other things to note .Great to know • Heimaey is an open, family-friendly house for respectful and free coexistence. • With a lot of love, I have created many play opportunities for all ages on the spacious property. Everyone is welcome to play and have fun – but use is at your own risk. Parents are responsible for their children. • On the farm there is a small organic farm shop with the essentials for everyday needs: fresh eggs, cheese, milk, pasta and much more – even wine. • There are three apartments in the house: two vacation apartments and my own apartment. The entrance to all apartments leads through the spacious conservatory, which all residents are welcome to use. • There are many cozy seating areas in the garden for all guests to enjoy, for example, the stunning sunsets in peace. • Separately on the farmyard are my private summer kitchen and a construction trailer. These areas are private. • The cats Punky and Echo live on the farm and in the conservatory. Punky loves being right in the middle of things and is happy to be petted. Echo is more of a quiet observer and likes to stay in the background. Please do not take the two of them with you to the vacation apartments. • The little dog Mathilda also lives on the farm. She usually greets new guests enthusiastically and then goes for a relaxed walk around the yard. • For ecological reasons and to be able to offer the apartments at a reasonable price, the vacation apartments are rented without bed linens and towels. Bed sheets are provided on all beds. It is best to bring your own bed linens and towels, or they can be booked for an additional € 15 per person. For stays of one week or longer, the house provides the bed sheets.
