Description

We welcome you to the Perche. The house is located in the golden triangle of Perche, in a village located a few minutes' drive from Bellême. The house has a lot of character: it is the old grocery store of the village combined with the old workshop of the farrier. With street-side access, the house overlooks a green setting of 8000 m2, wooded and peaceful. The layout is ideal for kids-friendly stays, for families or groups of friends. The space Welcome to Le Perche and our family home. It is a village house that has a beautiful garden arranged for young and old and overlooks a typical meadow of the Perche hills. We have four chickens in the garden which are very sociable! Located between Paris and the Normandy coast, Le Perche is a paradise for lovers of authenticity. With its beautiful villages and stone mansions, its centuries-old forests, its fishy rivers, its landscapes with gentle hills, its typical markets and delicious restaurants, embark on an unforgettable experience! With street-side access in an adorable village located near Bellême, the house overlooks a magnificent green setting of 8000m2 with trees and peaceful. The garden area includes many seating (hammock, etc.) and a swing. There is also a meadow with fruit trees (apples, nuts, chestnuts, hazelnuts) that extends to a small stream. The terrace is furnished and equipped with a large table for about 8 people, a round table for 4 people, outdoor armchairs, a rocking chair, a gas barbecue and a trunk containing outdoor games. The house is located in a village located less than a 5 minute drive from Bellême, a beautiful small town to discover absolutely! The house is the village's former grocery store reunited with the former farrier's workshop. Its layout is ideal for kids friendly stays, for families or groups of friends. The house consists of the following rooms: "La Maréchalerie" (Dining room/ Living room): Former workshop of the farrier of the village, the living room has an unusual architecture for the region with a cathedral roof more than 7 meters high, a large functional fireplace and a church beam supporting the mezzanine. The table can accommodate up to 12 seats. There is a very large sofa and many armchairs. Two baby high chairs are available. We hope you have a good time of conviviality. The fireplace can be used to make a beautiful blaze but should in no case be used for food, in particular because of the fragility of the cut stone and for safety reasons. We have prepared a small supply of wood to the left of the fireplace for about two fires. If you need additional wood, we invite you to get it from the supermarkets in the area (e.g. Carrefour de Bellême). The staircase to access the first floor is old and quite steep; it is equipped with a child safety fence. "L’Ancienne Épicerie" (Bedroom No.1 – Ground floor on the street): With a standard double bed for two people, the Ancienne Epicerie is located on the ground floor and overlooks the main street of the village. Its period checkerboard floor and designer furniture make it a cozy and modern bedroom with vintage air. It is necessary to go through this room to access the ground floor toilets and the Master bedroom (which is also accessible from the terrace). "The Master" (Bedroom 2 – Ground floor on courtyard): Located on the ground floor on the courtyard, the Master has a queen size bed for two people. It is accessible from the terrace or by crossing the Ancienne Épicerie. It provides access to the ground floor toilet. With a view of the terrace and garden, you feel like you're in a small haven of peace. "La Panoramique" (Bedroom #3 – 1st floor left on courtyard): Located on the first floor on the left at the top of the stairs, the Panoramique is equipped with a king size bed for two people and offers a magnificent view of the village church and the terrace. Calm guaranteed! "Le Dortoir Bucolique" (Bedroom #4 – 1st floor right): The Bucolic Dorm is located on the first floor on the right at the top of the stairs and has three single beds. The Dormitory offers a high ceiling with exposed framing. The Dormitory is a room open to the hallway through which the bathroom and toilet are accessed. Many children's books as well as a tipi are available for children for evening readings. This is a through room to access the La Champêtre room. "La Champêtre" (Bedroom #5 – 1st floor in the back right): La Champêtre is equipped with a standard double bed. Featuring green decor and heathered furniture, it is calm and soothing. Featuring an exposed frame, it is accessible through the Bucolic Dormitory. "The Kids Room": The games room is located on the first floor of the mezzanine. Many games (for young and old!), as well as books are at your disposal. There is a foosball table at your disposal. Outdoor games are also available, either directly in the garden during sunny days, or in the garage by bike or in the veranda on winter weather. "The Chefs' Workshop" (The Kitchen): The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator with freezer, oven, four induction hobs, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave and small appliances (kettle, toaster, chopper, pastry robot, whisk robot). You will find dishes and many kitchen utensils as well as a raclette machine. We leave at your disposal some condiments and basic necessities. The bathroom: Located on the first floor, the bathroom is accessible from the Bucolic Dorm. It is equipped with a large bathtub and shower gel, shampoo and a foldable baby bathtub are at your disposal. We can set up one or two cots on request. La Laundry Room: Accessible from the courtyard, the Laundry room is located after the Master bedroom. There is a washing machine and dryer. Safety rules: Attention: the staircase is a little steep to access the first floor of the house where there are three bedrooms, the bathroom and one of the toilets. The house and all amenities and objects must be used under the supervision of an adult. To avoid any intrusion by people (and animals!), please make sure to double-lock the courtyard gate (making sure to replace the bar against the left door), all the French windows and the street-side entrance door in your absence and during the night. We will deactivate the alarm and video cameras before your arrival- surveillance located in the garden. The camera located to the right of the front door on the street side and the one located in the meadow in front of the henhouse (exclusively aimed at allowing us to remotely monitor the chickens) will remain activated during your stay as a safety measure. Please let us know if you would also like us to disable them remotely. To close the child safety gates located at the top and bottom of the stairs leading to the first floor, press and gently turn the knob and close the stair gate with one hand. Once the locking system is engaged, the safety net must be stretched. Don't hesitate to write to us for any assistance. The electricity meter is located on the ground floor, to the right in the hallway of the toilet. The general water meter is on the sidewalk to the right of the door entrance to the pedestrian access of the house. Candles and a headlamp are available in the kitchen in the event of a power outage (even if little frequent, it sometimes happens in the countryside). Guest access In principle, check-ins start at 2 p.m. and checkouts take place before 11 a.m. on the day of departure. We would love to adapt these schedules and be flexible depending on the preparation time needed for the arrival of new guests. Other things to note The alarm and video cameras- surveillance located in the garden and side of the television will be removed or disabled before your arrival. The street side front door camera and the one across the street from the chicken coop (aimed exclusively at us allow remote monitoring of chickens) will remain active. Feel free to help yourself to some fresh eggs in the henhouse during your stay! Our four hens are very sociable. Please make sure to close their enclosure (latch + chain) after your visit.
