Beachdown is a recent private gated development of 12 modern homes in Challaborough, a small beachside village in south Devon. Challaborough has a sandy, blue flag, beach in a sheltered horseshoe shaped cove. Fantastic for surfing and other water sports with fabulous views of beautiful Burgh island. At the end nearest the beach there is a private gate and steps giving pedestrian access to the beach (a short walk along the lane) as well as a handy outdoor shower for washing off the sand after surfing or a dip in the sea. The property sleeps 10 - maximum 6 Adults (the 4th bedroom has two sets of bunks for the children). The perfect holiday destination for families (easily accommodates two families) or friends. All floors are fully tiled with rugs and underfloor heating throughout. Upstairs is an impressive open plan kitchen/dining/living space. Light and airy with floor to ceiling windows and large bifold doors giving access to the outside terrace and hot tub. The lounge area has two comfortable sofas, a large 65 inch tv with sounder. On the other side of the stairs is the modern fully fitted kitchen with masses of worktop space, integrated Neff appliances including single electric oven, induction hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. There is also a wine cooler, Nespresso machine and a microwave/convection oven. The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of plates, mugs and wine glasses as well as everything you might need for cooking. There is a breakfast bar with stools as well as a large dining table. Outside you will find a lovely decking area with comfy sofa set and table and lovely views of the hillside above. There is also a hot tub, table tennis table and gas bbq with steps up to the roof terrace - perfect for sunbathing or doing a workout with views of the beautiful surrounding countryside. Guest access Guests can access the whole house using a key safe and we have a fantastic covered porch area for changing out of wetsuits and storing all of the beach gear, so the house stays sand and beach free! Other things to note Discovery Surf School at Bigbury is just a ten minute walk away, and you can walk to numerous eateries and pubs, making it the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Beachdown is next to the Parkdean family holiday park at Challaborough, but we don't really notice it as we have blinds in the living room and the outside decking area is very private with views of the countryside behind the house. It is a very family friendly holiday spot. The holiday park brings with it many positives such as the Nisa convenience store, the Waterfront bar and Restaurant as well as the Driftwood Diner and Fryer Tucks take away. There is also Chally Bay Surf co for paddleboard and kayak hire and not forgetting the amusement arcade - great for the kids on a rainy day! The house is perfectly positioned for avid walkers with direct access to the South West coastal path in both directions giving access to mikes and miles of beautiful walks. Running is also beautiful but hilly in all directions!
