Rum Jungle is one of seven, open-air, one-bedroom, West Indian cottages with kitchens, bathroom and Wi-Fi to rent in English Harbour, Antigua at Pineapple House, owned by Libby Nicholson. Rum Jungle has a private sitting room, kitchen and bathroom and sleeps two. Guests are invited to share sundowners with Libby and guests in the main house each evening. Located nearby are French and Italian restaurants, night life, beaches, beach bars, yachts, and Nelson's Dockyard. The space Rum Jungle is a cute, one-bedroom cottage that is one of seven guest houses, connected by meandering pathways, owned by Libby Nicholson, located at Pineapple House in English Harbour. Guests are invited to share sundowners with Libby and other guests each evening. With private sitting room, kitchen. bathroom, and Queen-size bed, Rum Jungle is a fully private, comfortable unit all to itself that invites one to dream about living in Antigua year round.... Located near the front gate, up a flight of stairs, just under the main house, where we throw parties, it is close to the public road, so it can be noisy when cars drive by. With fewer stairs than the other cottages, there is a small kitchen with stove, oven, fridge, and running water. The lounge is similar to the rest of our cottages, comfy and cozy, but open, airy, and decorated in tropical style and architecture. The Queen-sized bed has a mosquito net, reading light, and fan. There is a private bathroom with cold-water shower. Pineapple House's laundry room shares an alcove with it. House cleaning is available weekly. Anyone staying in Rum Jungle is always invited up to the Main House to meet the rest of the yachting crew staying here. We encourage all of our guests to mingle and meet each other. Shops, night clubs, bars are all within a 5 minute walk to the Antigua Yacht Club Marina. The beach is just down the road, a 5-minute walk, with two beach bars at either end. One of the least expensive houses at Pineapple House, Rum Jungle has the fewest steps of all the houses; it now has internet. The main house is located just above it. It has a fully equipped, private kitchen; cold-water rain shower; and private sitting room, and is open to the Caribbean breezes. The one drawback is its proximity to the road, where cars drive by. Pineapple House is a great place to catch up on reading and writing. People who stay here meet people both within and without the compound, as Pineapple House caters to the crew off the yachts, who take time off between charters go stay here. We also cater to AirBNB guests. During regattas, sailors off the racing yachts prefer to stay at Pineapple House, as the Antigua Yacht Club is three steps from our door step. The neighborhood offers lively music and dancing, all within a few minutes walk. Many fine restaurants offer sit down or take out. Pigeon Beach is a five minute walk, where Bumpkins Bar is a great place to drink a pina colada and watch the sun go down and where a fine French restaurant graces the other end with its expensive but delicious luncheons, worth every penny, a real gem of a place.... English Harbour offers a safe, trendy neighborhood, where excellent Italian and French restaurants are within walking distance. Antigua is known for its white sandy beaches, stunning scenery, friendly people, sailing, and Nelson's Dockyard. Pineapple House is a great jumping off place from which to explore the island. Rum Jungle is open from late October to late May annually. Rent by the month, week, or night. Guest access Please feel free to walk around the gardens and join us in the main house for sundowners at sunset.... There’s a lounge in the main house, where you can surf the web (if not in your private cottage), and a little gazebo next to the main house gets good internet reception as well, although the light switch has to be on for the electrical outlet to work. Though we prefer not to do guest laundry, due to water scarcity, we do have laundry facilities on property for a small fee. The garden is for everybody to enjoy with guava trees, mango trees, banana trees, and lots of tropical flowers. Other things to note There is no TV or air conditioning at Pineapple House. Guests are invited for sundowners at the main house each evening. All the cottages are open to the wind, and mosquitos do make their way in. Each bed has a mosquito net, fan, and reading light, and there is a Mosquito Magnet in the yard, which we rebait every three weeks. Guests are asked to use water sparingly, as water is scarce on the island. Pineapple House has wonderful ocean views, but there are lots of stairs; we are located on a steep hillside.... Pineapple House caters primarily to couples; dormitory-style beds are available for individuals in the main house. Internet is available in the main house and gazebo only; we welcome guests to use the service in the main house any time. We are open from October to May.
