River Point Cottage - Tiki Time

It is a sunny day at Cantina Marina - you’ve just ordered a margarita while the boats putter by. Life doesn’t get better than this, does it? But it does - because you can enjoy all the river and cantina vibes down at Colonial Beach. Just a quick drive from the DMV, RVA & Fredericksburg - you’ll love the Playground on the Potomac. Two blocks from both the river and the bay, the River Point Cottage is the perfect getaway to dip your toes in the sand, golf cart around the Point, and get some sun. The space *RIVER POINT COTTAGE* Welcome to the River Point Cottage! The Cottage welcomes you and yours with three bedrooms and two full bathrooms all on one floor. The first two rooms, with queen beds and bright light, are nestled off the living room with a shared full bath (and tub). The primary bedroom is positioned off the back of the house off the dining space. The primary is a spacious room with a king bed and en suite walk-in shower. For those of you traveling with babies, we have several items to help with packing your car: Booster Chair for dining room table, Pack'n'Play (2nd bedroom closet) as well as an assortment of kid plates & cutlery. The cottage first welcomes you into a spacious, light-filled living room. Open up the windows to get a coastal breeze and catch the sunshine. Cozy seating, record player, board games - pull up a chair and relax. In the cooler times, turn on the fire to warm up the space. Looking to cook or bake? The fully stocked kitchen opens up to a breakfast bar (4 bar stools) and a dining space (seats 6) where you can host a breakfast or dinner with friends and family. Make sure to use the KitchenAid mixer for those family recipes. All the tools and kitchen gadgets wait for your culinary inspiration! Strong Wi-Fi throughout to work remotely. Take a spot at the kitchen table to take your calls before or after the beach. Check out the CoBe Workspace on Hawthorn to channel into the work day if you need to have a focused morning. Out front, you'll find patio chairs to sit back and relax while the fans whirl above. Catch the sunset shades over the Monroe Bay - or walk down two blocks to see it in all its splendor. Off the kitchen, relax on the back screened in porch around the table. Enjoy outdoor dining next to the grill for the true vacation feels. *FUN IN THE SUN AMENITIES* Beach Extras - For Your Use: 1 beach wagon, 8 beach towels, 6 beach chairs (adult), 4 umbrellas, YETI Hopper Flip cooler, random assortment of beach toys (sandcastle, water squirters, etc.) Rainy & Sunny Day Fun: Lots of board games for all ranges of ages (Uno, Cards, Utter Nonsense, Code Names, puzzles), mini library of books, Vinyl, Twister Water Pad & Slip'n'Slide (outside), Corn Hole, Bocce *PLAYGROUND ON THE POTOMAC* Welcome to the Playground on the Potomac! The old stomping grounds of the DMV from the 1900s, you will love Colonial Beach, its charm, and how quickly you'll feel at home here. The Cottage is located in the Point - a few blocks shy of "downtown" and the boardwalk. All the charm of small town dining and shopping with access to the river, sun, and history. History buffs - you're in luck. Just around the corner, you'll find the home of President James Monroe's birthplace - Monroe Hall. A few more turns, you will find the birthplace of President George Washington. If pirates are more your thing, pick up one of the books in the Cottage about the Pirates of the Chesapeake and the Oyster Wars. It's your time - you've earned it. Take a load off and relax at the River Point Cottage. You'll come to find that the beach time is just want you need to unwind and recharge. Colonial Beach is waiting for you - whether you're coming down from DC (1.5 hours), Richmond (1 hour, 20 minutes) to escape busy city life, come down for Tiki Time at the Point. Other things to note We love our dog friends and family. We welcome up to two dogs per stay with a pet fee of $25/night per dog. Please reach out to us if you plan on bringing your dog(s). This cottage is one floor, but there are 5 steps at the entry and back porch for those who have difficulty with steps. Once inside, the first floor can be accessed without any additional steps. There is a walk-in shower in the primary room. Note while Colonial Beach is golf cart friendly, the River Point Cottage does not currently have a golf cart included as part of the rental. We recommend Custom Cartz or T and T for all your golf cart fun. Make sure to call in advance especially for big holiday weekends.
