Whether you are starting your Lesotho adventure, finishing it off or looking for a gateway between Southern Lesotho and the North Eastern Cape, We are the stopover of choice! Nestled below the “Aloe Mountain” is a small rural village; Alwynskop, a mere 8km from the Telle Bridge Border Post. Our Self Catering Guesthouse offers comfort, cosiness and a welcoming atmosphere. Guests can relax, and look forward to the next leg of their journey. The space The main house has a functional open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area with everything you need for your self catering stay. There are 2 rooms with double beds. Each room has a full ensuite bathroom, with a bath tub in the main ensuite bathroom. There are other cottages on the property, so if you are looking for a space that sleeps more than 4 guests, please contact your host, Kathy - we are open to making a plan for your needs! You can expect neat, clean, comfortable rooms with bath & swimming towels provided. We offer secure off-street parking with plenty space for your 4x4's, a garden, a shared swimming pool and safe premises. There is an outside verandah with outdoor tables & chairs (perfect for sundowner drinks), with braai facilities available. Take in Alwynskop’s local scenery, experience good traditional food, try our local beers and enjoy the warm Basotho hospitality. Other things to note Helpful Tips and Information: TRAFFIC CONTROL & FINES - Most spot fines in Lesotho are a standard charge of R30, however the more serious fines are a bit more. Always ask for a receipt as most fines are not that expensive. But, this is Africa after all.... BORDER POSTS & FEES - The border post has a car fee for entering into Lesotho only. Depending on the size of your vehicle this is a standard charge of R80 for a SA registered car. If you are travelling with your own Groceries etc, anything above R250 will need to be declared. Keep receipts of all your foods bought. A receipt shown at the gate of R250 or less will be waved through.
