This luxury holiday bunkhouse in the Afan Valley is a fantastic venue for bringing together family and friends, mountain bikers and other retreats, and for corporate and special interest groups for midweek stays. It's also a great base for activity weekends, and popular with mountain bikers with a wide range of cycling routes to sample from the door. And it's fantastic value! The space Scandi style bedrooms in a corridor that used to be the chapel aisle are all about the warm tones of Wiltshire larch walls, floors and beds. The rooms and bunk bed layout is carefully designed so as to avoid compromising the full effect of the windows. This is room 5 in a bunkhouse that have 5 other contemporary ensuites rooms all sleeping 4 in a single bed and a triple bunk. One room has a triple bunk and a sofa bed. Afan Forest Bunkhouse feels much more luxurious than a typical bunkhouse - this architect-designed chapel conversion is an absolute triumph. A fantastic light filled open plan communal space has been created, while managing to retain the beauty of many original features. This bunkhouse has plenty of green credentials too with solar panels and a ventilation system in every room. Traditional arched windows with seating areas overlook the Afan Valley and village of Glyncorrwg, while the double height of the chapel allows for a galleried mezzanine activity room where the organ used to sit. The centrepoint of Afan Forest Bunkhouse is the enormous dining table where everyone can sit down together. This space also doubles up as a place for corporate group board meetings. Stylish stainless steel kitchen fully equipped includes range cooker and dishwasher. 2 jumbo washing machines and dryers. Inside dining for all guests at large sociable table or smaller tables. Lots of comfy sofas in lounge area and on mezzanine. The sofas can be rearranged to make a cinema. WiFi is available throughout via 4 repeaters connected using ethernet. A wired internet connection is available in 5 places. The property is centrally heated throughout with a Norwegian Jotul model 6 wood burner in the lounge. Feel free to bring your own logs and firelighters/lighters. If you will need logs please let us know. Bed linen provided but please bring your own towels. Outdoors there is a private patio and firepit. Mountain and valley and village views. There is a mountain river by the car park. Guest access The property is self check-in. Guest has access to their room, the communal area, kitchen and laundry room. During your stay Yes I’m available to help either on phone or in person. If not available in person I have staff that can help that live close to the bunkhouse. Other things to note There is a projector that guest can use providing that they bring their own laptop or smart device. There is a fire pit a few meters adjacent to the car park. Hear the flow of rushing water down the river while relaxing with your loved ones. Huge brown doors should only be used for fire exit only. Expect some noise if there are others in the bunkhouse. We however have a quite time from 23:00 - 7:00.
