Description

The small Violeta cabin is designed for two people seeking peace and quiet. It has a double bed and a full bathroom. Inside we have a coffee maker for your use and as a courtesy we offer you coffee from the Pluma region. The corridor-terrace is designed for you to spend a day reading, meditating, sleeping or simply contemplating the tranquility of a place that is away from noise, pollution and the daily hustle and bustle. The space The old stables of a small ranch are the space that houses the Cabañas Polvo de luz, a peaceful place located in the small community of Rojas de Cuauhtémoc, 30 minutes from downtown Oaxaca, ten minutes from the El Tule tree and five minutes from the international highway that leads to the Mezcal Route, Teotitlán, Tlacolula, Mitla, Hierve el agua and many other beautiful places. It's a place where the predominant sounds are the birds that visit us or the meowing of street cats that come at certain times to receive food. On the covered terrace, you will find mats to lie on the grass, a hammock to relax in, tables for writing, and a hanging chair. We want you to disconnect your mind and enjoy the inner and outer silence during your stay. The Violeta cabin is located on a small property that also includes the small house where your host lives. He is a retired design and publishing industry professional who is now a guardian of ancestral knowledge and a practitioner of traditional Mexican medicine, offering alternative therapies and healing. In collaboration with other neighbors, she also offers a beautiful and purifying temazcal ceremony, relaxing massages, and spiritual and energy cleansings. (Availability must be checked, and reservations must be made one week in advance.) Guest access We have opened a bookstore and cafeteria on the premises, independently of the cabins, which is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 4 pm to 9:30 pm, and on Sundays from 9 am to 7:30 pm. These days you can consume what we offer there and you may eventually run into customers who visit us. Other things to note Your hosts live in the main house — a couple recently retired from the publishing industry — and two cats. Several more cats come to the farm, which we gladly feed. It is a small town of 1,000 inhabitants, services are limited, including the internet, we have a signal but it is not optimal, sometimes slow and intermittent. The access road to the property is not paved, but it is uniform and easily accessible. Public lighting is very dim. As it is a rural town, there are still houses with farms and stables with animals such as roosters, chickens, cows, sheep, pigs, horses, donkeys, mice, etc., so it is not uncommon for their natural sounds and smells to reach the property. Although the cabins have mosquito nets, it is important to consider the presence of insects: mosquitoes, flies, ants, bees, wasps and spiders are frequent, less frequent are bees and scorpions.
