Description

Enjoy the mountains in a property with a vibe unlike any other. Located at the edge of Mt. Pinos, our tree-top cabin has great views and is more private than most cabins in PMC. It is beautifully designed and features floor to ceiling windows, top finishes, curated art, wood burning fireplace, BBQ, Viking kitchen, down bedding, Starlink wifi and soaking tub. It's the perfect place for a weekend of cooking, relaxing and being in nature. The space While there are many cabins in Pine Mountain Club, only a few are truly well-designed. Every aspect of this cabin was lovingly considered when I renovated this 1974 property into my second home. Each design choice, finish, and piece of art has been thoughtfully selected to create a sense of warmth and character. It’s a space I deeply value and love sharing with guests. It’s a great place to enjoy —whether you're cozying up with your partner, spending quality time with friends, playing games, grilling on the deck, or sipping cognac by the fire. The living room is a double-height showstopper with wood ceiling and 18-foot wood mullioned windows that flood the room with natural light. French doors open to a wrap-around deck with mountain views, and in the late afternoon, the room glows with sunlight. Arcosanti hanging bells adorn the space, and the resident stellar jays often drop by for a visit. For entertainment, the living room is equipped with Starlink, a smart TV, DVD player with a robust movie collection, Sonos speaker, and games, including a dartboard. The kitchen is a warm, uplit modern design with chocolate basalt countertops, Heath tile, Viking range, Subzero fridge and wine fridge, dishwasher, microwave, bean grinder and French press. I love to cook and this is an awesome kitchen to do it in. We are stocked with spices, coffee, tea and all of the things you might want to create with, such as great knives, food processor, fondue kit and slow cooker. Just outside of the kitchen is a deck and a BBQ grill, perfect for a fun evening hang or for stargazing with the house telescope. Pine Mountain Club is a dark sky zone and it is great for meteor watching. Just off the kitchen is a large bathroom that offers a freestanding tub and French doors opening to a small deck, which is awesome for a day or night hot bath. It is designed with stone sink and counters and artwork. There are two bedrooms. The primary is an open loft with king sized bed and full bathroom with shower. It has a small deck, ceiling fan, sheepskin rug and all down pillows and duvet. The bathroom features rain shower and artisan clay tile. The downstairs bedroom has two queen size bunkbeds, great for a set of friends or for kids. The lower bunk has sizeable head room, so it really functions more like a queen bed, unless the upper bunk is needed. It has reading lights, down pillows and duvet, with extra wool blankets found in the closet. The room has sliding doors and its own small deck as well as a full bathroom with basalt sink, countertops and clay tile rain shower. There is a laundry closet in the stair hallway. Perched at 6,300 feet, the cabin offers not just great views but also frequent bear sightings in the warmer months. The property is protected by an electric fence, allowing guests to safely view the bears up close. In winter, Pine Mountain Club often transforms into a snowy wonderland, with nearby cross-country skiing and sledding opportunities. We put our hearts into this cabin, and we’re excited to share it with you. Thank you for taking the time to read, and we hope to welcome you soon! Guest access The entire house is yours. Guests have access to the entire property and access to Pine Mountain Club amenities, which include golf, tennis, and swimming in summer months. Note that we can not be responsible for any club maintenance or closure issues and that there is a guest access card needed to use these amenities. $150 fee to replace the primary access card + $10 each for guest cards. Other things to note STAIRS THIS PROPERTY IS DIFFICULT TO ACCESS. Access to the property is up almost 80 stairs. This home is not accessible for those requiring assistance with mobility. Families needing to travel with a stroller would find access challenging as well. If you have them available, we recommend shoulder bags and backpacks, rather than wheeled luggage. DECKS Kids are welcome but be sure to watch them or small pets carefully especially around the stair wells and on the upper decks. BEARS We have bears. The cabin is located high up at the edge of the Mt. Pinos reserve. The many trails passing by the house have been made by wildlife. They hibernate in winter. In spring, summer and fall, bears pass by the house, primarily in the morning and in the evening. It's very cool to see them. However, DO NOT FEED THEM. We have an electric rope on the upper deck to keep them out and allow you to safely view them. it has an easy on/off switch right by the door. Should you or a child accidentally touch the fence, it will deliver a harmless shock, however, people with pacemakers should take exceptional care. WEATHER CONDITIONS / SNOW We are located at 6300’ elevation on the snowier side of the mountain. We'll be in touch as your arrival date gets closer with any special instructions based on weather conditions and the potential of snow during your stay. Should there be snow on the ground and you do not have a 4WD vehicle, you will be required to bring chains with you. The cabin can be difficult to access during snowfall. Should snowfall be prohibitively hefty, we may need to reschedule your booking. Should snowfall occur during your stay, there are snow shovels located at the top and at the bottom of the steps to the property for your use. If you desire guest shoveling, that can be arranged and an additional fee of $150 will be applied for that service. Refunds will not be given if you are not able to make it up to the cabin and have to cancel the day of your visit. LOCAL AMENITIES There is a local pool and hot tub that should be available for your use in SUMMER months. There is also tennis and golf which may be available as well. NOTE: these are part of the community, not part of our property and we hold no responsibility for these being open. They are, on occasion, closed for various reasons. AC Note that the house does not have air conditioning. It can be warm in summer. We do have fans. TRASH The community does not offer trash pickup, so local residents and guests remove trash and drop at the local transfer site upon exit. This is important for keeping bears out. Details and location provided upon booking. INTERNET We have fast wifi via Starlink. CELL PHONE RECEPTION There is no cell phone service up at the house other than Verizon. Cellular phones on other networks can function on the house wifi. PARKING There is one driveway with room for up to 3 cars. Absolutely no street parking allowed per the HOA and this is strictly enforced. PETS We love animals! Please contact us and ask about yours if you would like to bring them. There is an additional pet fee that will be applied for your stay. Pets cannot be left alone or unattended in the house at any time. FIREWOOD We provide firewood, located by the parking spaces. WILDLIFE The cabin is in a mountain region and there are mice, bats, blue jays, chipmunks and all kinds of critters. While we are rigorous about keeping them out of the house and keeping the house immaculate, it would not be unheard of for one to get in. If you encounter animal droppings or an errant cobweb, please notify us and we will take care of it. CAMERAS There are 3. We have a camera located outside at each entrance. NOISE Absolutely NO parties, loud music, or other "Noxious or Offensive Activity" allowed as per PMC Association Rules. Examples of noxious or offensive activities include but are not limited to; loud music that carries onto the property of others, incessant dog barking, loud or vulgar speech, children making excessively loud noise (screaming or squealing etc.). Such activities may result in a visit from the Pine Mountain Patrol with a request to cease and desist said activity. Please be respectful of the neighbors. RELEASE In booking this cabin, you release us of all liability related to any injury or property damage you may incur during your stay. Please review the rules and guidelines below as per the PMC HOA. No filming allowed. No noise, parties or noxious behavior. Fire danger is very real. No open fires. No weapons of any kind are allowed. Pets must be leashed. Please carry out all trash. Thank you!
