Welcome to our gorgeous alpine cabin in the trees. Our 3-story designer cabin is located right on the bear trail at the edge of Mt. Pinos in Pine Mountain Club. It features a wrap-around deck with BBQ, floor to ceiling windows, wood burning fireplace and soaking tub. Sleeps 4-6. Come up for a weekend of hiking, cooking, off-roading, golf, tennis, swimming, snow play or relaxing by the fire. This well-appointed house is spread over three levels. The main level houses a kitchen stocked for cooking with Viking range, dishwasher, wine fridge and dining table that seats six. Outside a wrap-around deck features views of the pines, gas fueled BBQ and rocking chairs. The main level also hosts a full-sized bath with free standing tub and small outside deck for star gazing with the house telescope. Pine Mountain Club is a designated dark zone so star gazing is excellent. Relax in front of a wood burning fire in the living room. The living room has a TV for streaming (Netflix, Prime, HBO), DVD players and tons of movies, darts and board games. Floor to ceiling windows offer panoramic forest and mountain views. The upstairs master bedroom is located on a third floor open loft, with a king sized bed, full bath with shower and a small outside deck for safe bear viewing. Downstairs you will find another bedroom with queen sized bunkbeds (all bedding in the home is 100% cotton), sheepskin rug and designed bath with shower. Downstairs also includes laundry room and small viewing deck. The entire house is yours. Guests have access to the entire property and access to Pine Mountain Club amenities, which include golf, tennis, and swimming in summer months. There is a guest access card needed to use these amenities. $150 fee to replace the primary access card + $5 each for guest cards. We will send you a personal door lock code so you can let yourself in. The house manual and other information is on the main floor dining table. I'm available via the app if you have any issues with the cabin. We want you to have a very enjoyable and relaxing getaway and will do everything we can to make it as wonderful for you as possible. If you have special requests please let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate them! Winter months often bring snow. In the summer months enjoy access to the community pool, tennis court and golf course (we have rackets available for your use.) Note that the pool is only available from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The area offers some great hikes and we have literature on them in the house. There are a few area restaurants and a local small grocery. Bring specialty foods you may need. The house is great for cooking. You will need a car to get around. There is no rideshare up on the mountain. The cabin has 3 parking spots. No street parking is allowed. Please be careful driving in the winter. The mountain can get snow from Nov-May depending on the year. During this time the roads may be covered in snow or ice and be closed or only accessible to vehicles equipped with with 4x4 and snow tires or with chains/cables. *** REFUNDS WILL NOT BE GIVEN IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO MAKE IT UP TO THE CABIN AND HAVE TO CANCEL THE DAY OF YOUR VISIT *** In order to avoid this please make sure to check weather/ road conditions before you head up. Please download an offline map in case you lose reception on the mountain. You can also purchase travel insurance via Airbnb. STAIRS THIS PROPERTY IS DIFFICULT TO ACCESS. Access to the property is up almost 80 stairs. This private home is not accessible for those requiring assistance with mobility. Families needing to travel with a stroller would find access challenging as well. Kids are welcome but be sure to watch them or small pets carefully especially around the stair wells and on the upper decks. BEARS We have A LOT of bears. The cabin is located high up at the edge of the Mt. Pinos reserve. The many trails passing by the house have been made by wildlife. In spring, summer and fall, bears pass by the house, primarily in the morning and in the evening. Great care should be taken to be aware of them and to keep a safe distance. If doors are left open, they may enter the house. DO NOT FEED THEM! KEEP A SAFE DISTANCE. DO NOT LEAVE TRASH OR FOOD OUTSIDE OR IN CARS. WEATHER CONDITIONS / SNOW We are located at 6300’ elevation on the snowier side of the mountain. We'll be in touch as your arrival date gets closer with any special instructions based on weather conditions and the potential of snow during your stay. Should there be snow on the ground and you do NOT have a 4WD vehicle, you will be required to bring chains with you. The cabin can be diificult to access during snowfall. Should snowfall be probitively hefty, we may need to reschedule your booking. Should snowfall occur during your stay, there are snow shovels located at the top and at the bottom of the steps to the property for your use. If you desire guest shovelling, that can be arranged and an additional fee of $150 will be applied for that service. Refunds will not be given if you are not able to make it up to the cabin and have to cancel the day of your visit. LOCAL AMENITIES There is a local pool that should be available for your use in SUMMER months. While there is a hot tub there, we do not promise or guarantee that this is available. There is also tennis and golf which may be available as well. NOTE: these are part of the community, not part of our property and we hold no responsibility for these being open. AC Note that the house does not have air conditioning. It can be warm in summer. We do have fans. TRASH The community does not offer trash pickup, so local residents and guests remove trash and drop at the local transfer site upon exit. This is important for keeping bears out. Details and location provided upon booking. INTERNET We have internet service, however, please be aware that due to the remoteness of the area or high winds or inclement weather, the internet can have issues or even go down completely. If you are planning a weekend around a particular televised event such as the Super Bowl or the Oscars, or if you absolutely MUST have uninterrupted wi-fi service, please be aware it is not guaranteed and it is possible that TV and/or Wi-Fi service may be sporadic or even completely down at times. CELL PHONE RECEPTION There is no cell phone service up at the house other than Verizon. Cellular phones on other networks can function on the house wifi, but if the wifi is down, so is reception. PARKING There is one driveway with room for up to 3 cars. Absolutely no street parking allowed due to PMCHOA rules. PETS We love animals! Please contact us and ask about yours if you would like to bring them. There is an additional pet fee of $125 that will be applied for your stay. PETS CANNOT BE LEFT ALONE IN THE HOUSE OR ON THE PROPERTY UNATTENDED AT ANY TIME. FIREWOOD We provide firewood, located by the parking spaces. WILDLIFE The cabin is in a mountain region and there are mice, bats, blue jays, chipmunks and all kinds of critters. While we are rigorous about keeping them out of the house and keeping the house immaculate, it would not be unheard of for one to get in. If you encounter animal droppings or an errant cobweb, please notify us and we will take care of it. CAMERAS There are 3. We have a camera located outside at each entrance. NOISE Absolutely NO parties, loud music, or other "Noxious or Offensive Activity" allowed as per PMC Association Rules. Examples of noxious or offensive activities include but are not limited to; loud music that carries onto the property of others, incessant dog barking, loud or vulgar speech, children making excessively loud noise (screaming or squealing etc.). Such activities may result in a visit from the Pine Mountain Patrol with a request to cease and desist said activity. Please be respectful of the neighbors. RELEASE In booking this cabin, you release us of all liability related to any injury or property damage you may incur during your stay. Please review the rules and guidelines below as per the PMC HOA. No filming allowed. No noise, parties or noxious behavior. Fire danger is very real. No open fires. Pets must be leashed. Please carry out all trash. Thank you!
