Offgrid Luxury Romantic getaway.
If you want to escape, disconnect from everything and everyone, be master of your own time, feel free and not guilty about doing nothing while feeling so much, we invite you to visit us. Magical, romantic, a simpler world built in the middle of a bamboo forest surrounded by primary jungle. An inviting space where architecture works with the environment and the sound of nature becomes the silence of the mind. Please read all the descriptions about the property. We are located 30 minutes from Puerto Jiménez. Close to the indigenous reserve Alto Lagunas and Corcovado National Park. The entire property is 150 hectares of which 100 are complete jungle and protected area. It’s a family owned property. I Janet grew up here until the age of 15. My parents are still here and have been for 35 years. They are farmers. Which means they grow 50% of their food. This is my second home, meaning I live here part time. My partner and I built it with a lot of love as part of our own retreat. Architecture, decorations and amenities inside the house are from our own taste and needs. The entire house runs on solar energy making it a luxury in this part of the world. The garden and the surrounding areas are always a work in progress. I’m trying to create harmony between the wildlife and us. The remoteness and seclusion is what makes this place so especial to us. Every detail has been taken in to consideration to provide comfort. The entire property As much as guests allow Our neighbors are a small costarican community, the beach Playa Blanca, the indigenous reserve Alto Lagunas and Corcovado National park. You will love the simplicity of the people and their way of life. This is one of a kind experience. You will be in the middle of nowhere yet you will have comfort and luxury in our home. It is important to have in mind the following: The access is a little tricky yet fun for the adventurous. The cottage is located adjacent to my parents farm. You will drive through the farm crossing an electric fence wire which you will have to open a couple of times.. It is harmless, it has very little voltage and it is not connected on both sides, meaning that when you remove it, it doesn’t have any electricity. You will cross a creek twice. This creek is ok to cross with a car in the dry season ( December-August) otherwise has to be crossed by foot. You will walk 100 meters through the bamboo forest and a few steps from where you will park your car to get to the house. You will need very good flashlights for this walking section if you arrive at night though it is not recommended to arrive after dark. The closest town is La Palma de Puerto Jimenez, less than 10 minute drive from or to the cabin. In this town you will find a few supermarkets where you can get all your groceries and other stuff you might need. I recommend to do your shopping before arriving.. The closest beach is Playa Blanca. Only 12 minutes away. It’s a very laidback beach, mostly locals, very rare tourists.. Puerto Jiménez is just 30 minutes away. Here you will find tour operators that can take you to Corcovado National Park. I will be available for any more questions or tips you might need throughout your visit. The house runs entirely on solar energy. Water is from a well, With a very good filter system, super safe to drink, shower and cook. We use eco friendly products for laundry and dishes. I recommend you bring hiking shoes or rubber boots if you can. Mosquito repellent. Flashlights. Raincoat. It’s the rain forest after all! Be ready to be amused by nature.
