Located 18 miles outside of Homer. Hand built here on the ranch in the style of my family's hunting cabins; with a few finishing touches. Offering a full kitchen, bathroom , shower, this cabin has electric lights and a oil heater in place of the temperamental wood stoves. Our area offers stunning views of Kachamack bay, our ranch and peony farm. Note that cell service will likely drop off a few miles before you reach the cabin. please read more in "The space" section of this listing. While the cabin does offer wifi, Please be advised that most people will loose cell service a few miles before the cabin. Please make sure you saved directions and desired photos for location identification in a way they will be accessible to you when not in cell service. We are located near the head of scenic Kachemak Bay. 18 miles (about a 30 min drive) from the town of Homer. The closest store is about 10 miles from our place, and one of our favorite stops. Fritz Creek General Store offers fuel, baked goods, and general convenience items. From our property you will have excellent views of the bay and mountains. This is a small family farm. Although there are horses, cows, dogs, and kids around, Your space is offset from the main family traffic. Cellular Service is available is sometimes available around the cabin but it is generally very weak. You are welcome to interact with us and ask questions about the area, or come and go as you please. You are welcome to walk around the ranch and explore our area. I am on location most the time at my own home nearby. My parents and my other family members are also on location, in their own homes. Some one is always available to help you with questions and we will do our best to make sure your needs are met. This is a popular starting point for many who wish to explore the caribou hills or the head of Kachemak bay. Beach access is approximately 5 miles away. If you have a 4wd vehicle you can drive the gravel road down to it, or it makes a great hike. We have parking space if people want to bring their own atv's for exploring or getting back in the hills for hunting or berry picking.
