The local road authority (Kenai Borough) keeps the roads to the Cabin clear of snow, most of the time. Be our Guest! Relax in our Greenwood cabin's warmth, it's wood finishes and details. Enjoy the comfort of quality furnishings throughout. The cabin's fully equipped kitchen, with full size appliances, including a dishwasher, will help you to feel right at home. Our cabin has an outdoor deck, BBQ and a fire pit for your enjoyment. We have very comfy beds and quality linens. One bathroom, shower only, and a second sink in the hallway to wash up or brush your teeth! Homer has many year-round activities!! Our cabin is available year-round and has excellent winter access. Roads are plowed and we have off street parking. Our cabin is just a stone's throw from McNeil Canyon Ski trails and snowmachine trails to the Caribou Hills and beyond. Only a mile and half to Eveline State Park, which also offers year-round trails, and connects with McNeil Canyon's trails. Our little cabin has a sweet story with new chapters to come. We offer a weekly discount, and for stays longer than one week, guests will allow our housekeeper to stop by to come by to spiff things up! Our radio is tuned to local PBS station KBBI 890 AM. You will have the entire place to yourself, with off street parking for two cars. Nina or Dave are nearby if you need them. Greenwood Cabin is located out East End road, near McNeil Trail, one and a half miles from the Eveline State Recreation Site and 14 miles, or about a 20 minute drive, from the Homer Spit. Our cabin is located about 20 minutes outside of Homer. One of the most beautiful and scenic drives you will ever experience. Winter access is excellent, roads are plowed, and we have off street parking. From the cabin, you can ski out to the McNeil Canyon ski trails. Although just out of town, and with neighbors nearby, you will be in the Alaskan Wilderness. The following precautions are good advice for your summertime visit to Homer. Alaska is a wonderfully wild place. Take care to enjoy your visit. Please respect that for your safety and the safety of the wildlife that calls this area home. WILDLIFE: Please do not harass any wildlife. If you are a quiet, respectful resident you may be treated to some awesome and memorable encounters. Bear may be nearby and will likely see you, before you see them and will remain out of your sight. They come out during darker/later/quieter hours. Moose could be anywhere at any time. Moose can be dangerous; there are far more dangerous moose encounters. They are Huge, and they run fast.... WILD PLANTS: Please be aware that there are two potentially harmful wild plants on our property. Both grow abundantly all over Homer's wild places, and not so wild places. Pushki, Alaska Cow Parsnip, is beautiful but can cause burns and blisters. Nettles, also abundant, can sting like bee stings. A few patches are marked, please take note and be cautious.
