Summer House by the Lake

This lovely summer cabin is located in the spectacular Ringerike area of Norway with all the local sights only a short drive away. With great views of the lake Steinsfjorden (Tyrifjorden) the cabin is perfect for a friends' getaway or family holiday. The lake is about 100 metres walk from your doorstep, and you can fish, kayak, and swim there at your leisure. Sit at the patio in the evening by the fire pit and look across to the Nordmarka nature reserve, where legend has it the trolls live. The space The cabin has a new bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, and another with a bunk bed. There's an additional box room where a single sleeper sofa is placed, and a double sleeper sofa in the living room. Enjoy the evenings in the outdoor living area with cosy blankets and candles, with a view over the lake. Light the fire pit and enjoy a barbecue, or go for an evening swim or a canoe-trip on the lake (fishing equipment and canoe can be rented at an extra charge from the owners). There's an outdoor shower in the garden (in addition to a nice warm shower inside) as well as a sizeable grassy area where you can play kubb or petanque (available in the cabin). You can also put up the hammock for a nap in the sun, or enjoy the beach area just a close walk from the cabin. Guest access The whole cabin is at your disposal. Other things to note The cabin has electric heaters and a wood burner. Guests who wish to use the latter must bring their own wood, which can be bought at most petrol stations or supermarkets in Norway. There is no TV nor WiFi in the cabin, but decent 4G reception. Bedding and towels are provided for guests. There is private parking at the cabin, but please beware that it can be tough getting up the road without a four wheel drive. If you think you'll have problems there are alternative parking spots at the top of the road down to the cabin, about 50 metres away.
