Description

Come and stay in our unique, handmade cabin. Set in two acres of secluded land, it's the perfect place to get away from it all. Completely off grid, yet with a heated shower, cooking facilities, wood burner, and running water, you will find it has everything you need for a relaxing break. Located in the Sussex countryside, it is the perfect base for exploring this beautiful part of the world. Local highlights include Brighton only a short drive away and Bolney vineyard around the corner. The space The land is around 2.5 acres in size. It's surrounded on all sides by mature oak woodland. Originally an open field used for horses, we've planted a 400 hazel tree coppice in the centre and manage the whole area with the intention of increasing the plant and animal biodiversity. The cabin is around halfway down the land in a clearing to the side of the hazel trees, completely hidden away from the road at the top. There is a double bed inside the cabin. We provide linen and duvets. There are also extra blankets if you get cold or want to sit out and wrap up at night. Completely off grid, it has a simple solar electric system, with lights and charge points for phones and other devices. It doesn't have wifi. For heating, we use a wood burner that we provide fire lighters and kindling for, but you will need to bring logs if required. Outside the front is a covered deck with a concrete work top, sink (cold water only) and a four ring gas hob. We have all the cooking equipment you might need, but please note there is no fridge so it's worth bringing a cool box if you need to keep anything refrigerated. There is a fire pit next to the cabin if you want to have a campfire. Again you'll need to bring logs if you want to have a fire. We ask you kindly not to use any wood you find lying around as we deliberately leave fallen branches etc for wild life. Just a short walk through the hazel coppice you'll find the composting toilet and shower. The shower is heated and nestled in amongst the trees. We manage the land for wildlife. We don't use any chemical herbicides or fertilisers. At the bottom of the field, there is a large strip of open land, which we leave to grow into a meadow. If you are a nature lover, you will really enjoy all the wildlife. You may see deers, lots of different birds, and in the summer, hundreds of butterflies. The facilities are off grid, but it has everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing stay. There are lots of nice country pubs in the local area, and various shops just a short drive away. Please note if you require firewood we can provide a bag for £6.99 including tinder and fire lighters. Just let us know how many bags you need and we will leave them for you and send a payment request. Guest access We don't live at the land so you will have the whole place to yourselves. But we are always contactable and not far away if you need anything.
